"Capless-2019". Every year more and more participants
Operation "Peakless Cap" is a glorious and exclusively Novorossiysk tradition, which appeared due to the initiative, as they say, from below. The author has already written in more detail about this patriotic action, therefore I will not add any further information. Let me just remind you that it passes annually as a token of the memory of the legendary landing on Malaya Zemlya, held in 1943 on the night of 3 on 4 in February by a detachment led by Major Caesar Kunikov.

In the 2018 year, according to the most generalized estimates, "Peakless Cap" gathered from 35 to 40 thousands of Novorossiysk and guests of the city-hero. This year also some patriotic clubs and simply not indifferent compatriots from neighboring cities came to Novorossiysk specifically to participate in the "Capless". There were even delegations from the infinitely distant from these shores of Nadym and Khanty-Mansiysk. For the passage of the columns of the memory march, the authorities blocked for several hours the Lenin Avenue for more than three kilometers. And, surprisingly, I did not hear any irritation or criticism from the locals.

The mood, in spite of the fact that the municipal authorities to some extent “privatize” the action, has remained its own and people's. The painting of the wall of the Novorossiysk Museum-Reserve became a kind of greeting from the regional capital. Krasnodar artists Alexei Serebrennikov, Pavel Bibishev, Evgeny Kolpakov and Svetozar Fefelov began creating the picture on January 28, working on the work until late evening. And even though this kind of subculture art is called graffiti, it’s just that difficult to call the resulting picture. The painting very organically fit into the architecture of the still Soviet building, although cars somewhat spoil the impression.

Alas, the veterans, who almost always took part in the evening march and already night activities, could not come this time - the age takes its course.

On the night from 3 to 4 in February, when the city was empty, and the overwhelming number of law enforcement officers were mobilized to ensure the safety of "Peakless", a Neanderthal vandal on the embankment destroyed the "I love Novorossiysk" photozone. He just broke the letters. Having broken the name Novorossiysk, the Neanderthal attacked ... a drink vending machine on the other side of the embankment, and, seeing the fence of iron rods, tried to climb over it - that's right, it drew home to the aviary.

Behind the fence was the sensitive territory of the Sea Port, where a creature with bloodied fists was “welcomed” by the port workers. The Neanderthal man turned out to be sober, and after his delivery to the police on duty, it turned out that the creature even has a passport ... a citizen of Ukraine. Truly, each country has its own heroes.
