24
In recent years, both in the world and in Russia, the emergence of a large number of quite unusual weapons. One of them, of course, is the SUV buggy. This machine is hardly typical for the Russian army.
Buggy can not be attributed to the car or to the ATV, it does not have armor, air conditioning and a stove. It may seem strange and ridiculous to someone to have such a device in service with the Russian army. But this vehicle has high maneuverability and other advantages.
Buggies are actively used in the US Army for patrolling in desert terrain and conducting combat operations. These SUVs, with a strong frame and high traffic, are in service with several countries. Not BMP and not armored personnel carriers, but occupy their niche.
In Russia, they are just beginning to show interest in this car. Today, buggies are already in service with the Special Purpose Center of the FSB and the Rosguard and have successfully passed tests in the mountains of the North Caucasus and in the Arctic. Together with the Russian armed forces, the authors of the program “Military Acceptance” on the Zvezda channel decided to take a closer look at this unusual military SUV. Published video “Military acceptance. “Buggy. An SUV that came down from the mountains ”, which will answer the question about the practical benefits of a buggy in our army.
