Vietnam buys Heron 1 Israeli medium-height drones

The Vietnamese Ministry of Defense signed a contract with the Israeli company Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for the supply of three unmanned aerial vehicles of the Heron 1 long duration and ground control station to the armed forces of the state, bmpd blog reports referring to the French newsletter Intelligence online.

Vietnam buys Heron 1 Israeli medium-height drones

According to available information, the Vietnamese military will pay for three Israeli drone and control equipment $ 140 million. Aeronautics Defense Systems (ADS), a competitor of IAI in the market, also participated in the tender for the supply of UAVs to Vietnam drones. The reasons why the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense chose the Heron 1 UAV are not named.

Recently, Israel is increasing its presence in the Vietnam arms market. Of course, the volume of products supplied and the turnover of funds are not comparable with Russian and American supplies, but over time, Israeli products may occupy a certain niche in the defense market of Vietnam. In addition to IAI, in Vietnam, Rafael and Elbit Systems, as well as Verint, which had previously worked in Vietnam, were already "noted".

IAI Heron or Heron 1 is a long-duration medium-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle designed to conduct reconnaissance and surveillance, as well as other tasks during long flights - up to 45 hours, at altitudes up to 10 700 m.

Israel has no opportunity to compete with the superpowers across the entire range of weapons. It is more important to occupy your niche. Over the past five years, the volume of sales of the Israeli defense industry in Vietnam has exceeded $ 1.5bn.

For drones and air defense have already taken. By the way, Russia bought these drones, and is actively using them in Syria.

It is clear that they did not emphasize that the Outpost is the Russian name for the Israeli Searcher Mk II drone assembled for the Russian Ministry of Defense at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant in Yekaterinburg from kits supplied by the Israeli corporation Israel Aerospace Industrues (IAI).

Russia has not bought components from Israel for a long time, they are all manufactured in Russia. The Russian "Outpost", although it is a licensed copy of the Israeli drone, has already changed the "stuffing" and is made entirely from Russian components. hi

And they could have bought from us if they had not slowed down ...

Correctly! Licensed copy with modified stuffing. But in fact, these are already our drones with production from us, and not just purchased with basic system and other support.

So in Syria it seems to be full of “Outposts” and “Outposts.” They, of course, are produced in Russia, but in fact copies of Israeli ones.

I think the Israeli apparatus won on the basis of supplier independence (relative, but still independent from Russia and the USA)
