US President Donald Trump did some conflicting tweets during the day. Using microblogging as the main platform for reflecting their position, the White House owner spoke about a meeting with the Russian president at the G20 summit in Argentina. At first, Trump said that he had a favorable relationship to meet with his Russian counterpart, but then announced that Russia "did not return the boat to Ukraine and did not let the sailors go," and therefore "asks those who prepared the meeting to cancel it."
Trump:
Proceeding from the fact that ships and sailors were not returned to Ukraine from Russia, I decided that it would be better if all interested parties canceled my previously scheduled meeting in Argentina with President Vladimir Putin. I look forward to a meaningful summit again as soon as this situation is resolved!
In Ukraine, the Maidan "elites" Trump's Twitter statement met with enthusiasm. At the same time, in Kiev they cannot really explain what exactly Ukraine benefits from the decision of the US president?
Earlier, the Ukrainian media, citing "lawyers", announced that several sailors from boats violating the state border of Russia had been transferred from Simferopol to Moscow. Russia does not officially confirm this information.
Returning to Trump's tweet, we should add: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that there had been no official confirmation of the cancellation of the meeting from American representatives.
The final reaction of the Kremlin, which was expressed by the head of the presidential press service, is as follows:
We did not receive confirmation, but if this is so, then the president of Russia will have a few extra hours for important meetings in Argentina.
