Yearlings and other changes in HE
The administration informs you that the Military Review information and analytical portal has undergone significant technical changes. Many of these changes, all the details of which are given below, were our reaction to your complaints and suggestions, which we could not pass by. Your opinion, our regular readers, is extremely important for the work of an information resource, because you have become a large and significant part of it.
Now directly about the changes that have been implemented in the work of the site recently.
Site speed
A lot of work was done to optimize the site. This gave a significant increase in the speed of loading and operation. There are still some problems on pages with a large number of reader comments. But we are working on solving this problem.
Notification of new comments
We created notifications about responses to reader comments. When you reply to your comment comes a notice in the pop-up window on the site. They also (notifications) are displayed in a window with a bell icon, by clicking on which you can view all received messages and, if necessary, clear the list. A little later, the ability to turn off these notifications will be implemented if you don’t need them or in some way bother you.
This feature was requested by our regular readers.
New personal messaging system
We reworked the internal system of personal messaging. Communication on the site is now much easier and easier. We hope that you have already liked the new system. Some users in the contact list may have a user without a nickname.
In order to remove it, you need to clear the entire history correspondence
Profile Profile
We made it possible to view the current rating on the Profile page.
Yearlings
Many of you have already noticed that yearlings appeared next to the nickname, which correspond to how long a person has been registered on the site. Everything is very simple - any reader gets the opportunity to see if he communicates with the “newcomer” or with the “old-timers” of our site.
Flags
They removed the flags, as this led to conflicts and often unfounded and biased assessments by commentators from other states.
Comments
When you hover on the rating of a comment a pop-up window appears with the number of votes for and against.
Solving the problem with displaying comments from unauthorized visitors.
In order for comments to be displayed correctly, you must use modern browsers Google Chrome, Yandex, Firefox, Opera and others. It should be noted that some ad blockers block the script responsible for displaying comments. The same goes for mobile browsers. That is why for users who use ad blockers, some features and interface elements may not work correctly.
Important: comments will not work in any version of Internet Explorer.
Other changes
Button "Add to favorites" moved down the page, there it is more noticeable, and, as it seems to us, this place is just more logical.
We also fixed a large number of errors and flaws.
We are waiting for feedback on the current changes and are ready to take into account all the constructive suggestions and comments.
