Defense Ministry will combine air defense divisions with EW battalions

21
The Russian Ministry of Defense is working on the issue of strengthening air defense divisions (air defense) by electronic warfare battalions (EW), Izvestiya writes, citing the press service of the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.

According to the plans of the Russian military department, the EW battalions will be introduced into the air defense divisions, which will be equipped with the EW Moscow, Krasuha-2 and Krasuha-4 mobile complexes. In the future, the battalions will be equipped with the Divnomorye mobile system. This decision was motivated by a joint research conducted by the Central Scientific Research Institute of Aerospace Defense Forces and the Radio Electronic Tests Research and Development Institute, which showed a twofold increase in the effectiveness of air defense and missile defense when working with EW systems.

Defense Ministry will combine air defense divisions with EW battalions

The findings were confirmed when this system was used in Syria, when GPS signals were jammed during an attack on the Khmeimim airbase using an electronic warfare system. drones, after which they were shot down by air defense systems.

Modern mobile electronic warfare systems are capable of “hammering” the equipment of cruise missiles, drones and radars of aircraft that carry out guidance with powerful interference. Disoriented cruise missiles and drones become easy targets for air defense systems.

As conceived by the military, the EW battalions will engage to cover command posts, groups of troops, air defense systems, important industrial and administrative facilities.

EW in modern combat should be an integral part any kind of troops.

First, electronic warfare systems can spoil their air defense system, burn out, etc., therefore they must be managed in a coordinated manner from a single center. Secondly, electronic warfare must clog the external target designation and the readings of the radio altimeter, drive the game higher under the hunter's double-barreled shotguns, or boldly bury the devices in the ground, i.e. actually knock down.

But for missile defense, how can this come in handy?

Only as an addition. The missile defense and missile attack warning systems work in missile defense. If this happens, no system will help anyone and nowhere. God only!

The latest models and standard EW-means to crush is not easy, because moving not under the constant control of the operator - part of the route or fly-around of the object is performed in the autopilot mode using a randomized algorithm. hi

The so-called autopilot, in addition to correction according to the positioning system, must definitely use a read-off altimeter, at least, at least what algorithms it has there. For if he goes to a height then a penny (shekel) to him the price will immediately fall under the influence of air defense, one chance is to sneak, hiding behind the curvature of the Earth and not crawl out of the horizon, be it the KR, a drone or a Stealth fighter in passive mode. If we don’t get external target designation data, however, we’ll have to turn on the radio altimeter and nothing else, against which we again have means. Well, no algorithms will help at least crack. Okay, Stealth, there the pilot can manually, looking at his thermal imager wassat to fly, but there are no droids ... According to the electron EMF, which is not beloved on the Earth, that is the basis of many of our electronic warfare systems (even without touching a vigorous explosion), electronics are burned out there and there is no talk of algorithms, altimeters, airborne receivers, etc., in short, no brain and coven wassat and the Faraday cage will not help, however ...

False targets are electronic warfare systems directed against the enemy’s missile defense, like inflatable, foiled to deceive the missile defense behind the atmosphere and heavy simulators of warheads in the atmosphere. Also, missile defense radars are susceptible to external influences, like GOS missiles. In turn, the individual guidance head and the ICBM breeding platform, with astro correction, liposcopic correction, inertial and gyroscopic systems, are also based on the algorithms of electronic devices, which means they are affected by electronic warfare systems.

The EW battalion should be in each air defense regiment, and in the division a full-fledged EW regiment including electronic intelligence equipment (Mail)

we seem to have a rtb attached to the brigade. As part of the brigade command post, the navigator from IA and Asu and RTB is tied to it. In theory, they transfer goals to each other. How else? and here they propose to tie RTB to the division. what's the point? and how many zones does the division cover? If more than 1st, then it makes sense to have 1 RTB. In general, they are wise.

Here one can only ironically quote the "father of the revolution"
what the Bolsheviks have been talking about for so long has happened!
. For more than 10 years, all air defense troops and electronic warfarers, from respected professors to industry experts on models, examples, and during exercises, have been demonstrating to the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense about the need for combining and strict subordination of electronic warfare, air defense and communications from tactical to strategic level of management. It is a pity that only real fighting in Syria finally allowed to convey the obvious things to the leadership of the Ministry of Defense.

It’s just that they related to electronic warfare as they once had to cybernetics and genetics at the state level i.e. they didn’t understand what it was and how to eat it ... request

This is the honest truth. In our division, the command had a saying: "The division needs P ... nick (surname of the head of the electronic warfare service) like a hare." The missile division, by the way, like the leaders should be smart ...

Well then, let’s recall the 57-mm ZiS-2, for which the first half of the Second World War really had no worthy goals (although it was developed and even adopted before the war).
By the way, this is almost an isolated case when the most excellent, best on Earth in its class (at that time) anti-tank gun was rejected for, I quote, "excessive armor penetration".

Well then, let’s remember the 57 mm ZiS-2

Here, at least the rationale is objective.
It is much more technologically advanced, more complex and more expensive than a 45-mm anti-tank gun and it was simply irrational to load limited capacities with its production until heavily armored targets appeared.
