Thanks to the work of our oil workers, a record oil production rate was achieved in the history of Azerbaijan - 23 million tons of “black gold”, what amounted to 71,4% of all oil produced in the USSR. In general, during the war years, Azerbaijani oil workers gave the country 75 million tons of oil, 22 million tons of gasoline and other petroleum products. We can say with confidence that Baku oil became one of the main factors in the victory over fascism. It is enough to note that every four out of five planes, five tanks, and five cars ran on Baku gasoline.
