The press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia publishes a statement stating that the real number of victims of the fire in the Kemerovo shopping and entertainment center is less than the original one. Recall that on the following day after the terrible tragedy, the information about 67 dead was officially announced. Then it turned out that the three Kemerovo residents were found alive and unharmed. After that, for more than three weeks, the official figures for the dead were such - 64 people.
Now, in the RF IC, 60 people have actually been killed in a fire in the “Winter Cherry” shopping center.
Official representative statement SC RF Svetlana Petrenko:
The Directorate General for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues to investigate the causes of the fire in Kemerovo's Winter Cherry shopping and entertainment center.
Investigators obtained conclusions of genetic examinations of those who died in the fire in the Kemerovo shopping and entertainment center. They are all identified. In this regard, the investigators issued permits for the burial of the 37 victims.
Earlier, as a result of the identification procedure, relatives were issued permits for the burial of 23 victims. The results of the work on the verification of all appeals about the missing people in the fire, as well as the findings of experts, allowed the investigation to determine the final death toll in a fire is their 60.
I want to believe that the death toll in the fire in Kemerovo is really less than that which has sounded all last weeks.
