On the night of January 9, Israeli aircraft launched missile launches from Lebanese airspace around the Syrian army’s military facilities in the suburbs of Damascus. Air defense systems successfully intercepted all targets and fired at an enemy fighter.
On the morning of the same day, ground-to-ground class missiles were launched from the territory of the Golan Heights at the same facilities of the SAR Army. All of them were again shot down by the Syrian anti-missile systems. Some time later another blow followed. Of the four rockets launched by the Israelis, three reached their targets, causing damage to the Syrian army.
As noted by the Ministry of Defense of the SAR, Israeli actions were aimed at supporting the militants in the suburbs of Damascus.
