Dr. Heim - the beast in human form
He was a doctor at Mauthausen camp. He was called the Doctor Death. He conducted inhuman experiments on living people, made amputations without anesthesia, and made various items from tattooed skin. For many years he was one of the most wanted criminals related to the Nazis. His name is Aribert Heim.
This man was born in Austria-Hungary into the family of a housewife and a policeman. He studied medicine and practiced medicine in Vienna. In 1940, he voluntarily entered the Waffen-SS.
Heim got his famous and terrible nickname “Doctor Death” during the Second World War. The reason for this was his "medical" activities in the Mauthausen concentration camp, which was located in Austrian territory. Heim began his service in the 1941 camp of the year in October, having worked there until February of the 1942 year. He is guilty of many tortures and murders of a huge number of prisoners in the camp, where he conducted "medical experiments" on Jews.
Among his experiments were operations without anesthesia, amputations of limbs and organs, with the help of which the doctor wanted to determine how much pain a person can endure, the introduction of gasoline, poisons or plain water through injections into the heart, to determine how soon death occurs after one or another impact.
According to available data, Dr. Death showed particular cynicism when he took the skull of a prisoner he killed as a souvenir.
Since the majority of Khaima’s “patients” are dead, the main evidence of his guilt is Khaima’s personal notes, in which he described in detail all of his inhuman experiments.
In 1945, Dr. Death was arrested by the US military, but two years later he was released. Until 1962, Heim practiced medicine in western Germany, in the town of Mannheim, and later got a job as a gynecologist in Baden-Baden.
When, in 1962, the decision was made to arrest him and to continue the trial for war crimes, Heim disappeared without a trace, and the police found only his empty house.
Initially, his searches were conducted in Spain, later there was evidence that he could be hiding in South America. And in the 1967 year, and in general there was information that he works as a doctor in the police of Egypt.
The Wiesenthal Center, which is looking for Nazi criminals who survived the war, offered 315 thousands of dollars for providing information about Jaime.
As a result of the investigation conducted by American journalists, it was found out that Dr. Death had been hiding in Egyptian territory in Cairo all these years. Here he was known as Tarek Hussein Farid, he began to take a great interest in photography and never left the camera, but he never allowed himself to be shot.
In the hotel where Heim had been living for the last decade, a briefcase with rusty clasps was found containing letters, children's drawings, medical reports, reports from banks, and an article from a German magazine stating that he was being searched for as a Nazi criminal and that the trial was held in absentia.
Despite the fact that part of the documents found was addressed to Farid, and part to Khaimah, they all belonged to the same person. This fact was confirmed by the son of Haima Rüdiger, who said that his father had indeed lived in Cairo in recent years, took the name of Farid after the conversion to Islam. He also confirmed the information that his father had died of colorectal cancer in the capital of Egypt.
At the same time, it is impossible to close the Khaimah case definitively, since the place of his burial remains a mystery. Anyway, story This izuvera attracted the close attention of the public to the little-studied until the problem of the flight of the Nazis to the Middle East. It remains unclear and the fact how Khaima managed to get away from the chase, because he maintained constant communication with his family, received money from Europe.
It has been established that he was detained only once - during his arrest by the Americans.
Several years ago excerpts from Heim's letters to one of his acquaintances appeared in the Spanish press. Paradoxically, he does not consider himself guilty. The 21 letter fell into the hands of the police, in which Dr. Death assured his friend that he could not be involved in all the crimes attributed to him because he adhered to the principles of medical ethics. He also asked for help to restore his good name.
In his testament, Haim bequeathed to hand over his body for scientific research, and his son promised to carry out his father’s last will, although in Egypt it would be very difficult.
Moreover, there is a large share of the likelihood that the doctor is actually alive and hiding in Chile. The main proof of this assumption is the fact that, since the time of Haim’s alleged death, none of his relatives have appealed about the inheritance, which can only be obtained if evidence is provided of his death.
