X-2 fighter: how the Japanese overtook Americans and Russians

43
By the time the 2010s began, the Japanese Air Force began to feel the need to modernize an already outdated fighter fleet. Being armed with American F-15 and F-16, the Japanese expressed a desire to acquire modern "invisible" F-22. However, the US Congress imposed a ban on the export of these aircraft, including the closest allies.

The F-5 35 generation fighter-bomber proposed by American developers did not meet the needs of the Japanese Air Force. They needed a maneuverable fighter to gain air superiority, not a cumbersome “cow.”

In this regard, the Japanese aircraft manufacturing corporations decided to create their own national generation 5-6 aircraft. And in April 2016, the first prototype called X-2 rises into the air. On this experimental aircraft it is planned to work out all the key technologies that will later be implemented in the projected X-3 fighter.

What’s the big deal? "The engine is the most powerful, given the mass of the aircraft."
In Russian - thrust-weight ratio or specific power (I know? I turn the street into a red light, but such nonsense ...)
Wrote - well done! Let the flyers read so that there is no shame and pain, not only to you but also to us, for whom you write.
Correctly noted: invisible in a wider spectrum.

And in April 2016, the first prototype called the X-2 takes off. On this experimental aircraft it is planned to work out all the key technologies that will be further implemented in the designed X-3 fighter.

And what did the Japanese overtake there? X-2 is only in the prototype in a single copy and that’s all. And statements and ambition, as if the Death Star had already been invented.

Each mosquito in its swamp fighter. While, at least in the training battle, they will not try each other, it is only possible to produce passes in the air with your hands!

X-2 is only a corps ... neither weapons nor avionics are complete there. How long will it be tested? 10 years ... then, a series, .. and not the fact that a competitive fighter will turn out. And when will the X-3 appear? In 20-30 years ... count. Already, the same SU-57 with product 30 is not a fighter of the 5th generation, but higher, since it surpasses the lizard in almost everything. And at the exit we get a transitional car to the 6th generation, in 15 years, the 57th will not be much inferior to the 6th generation fighter, taking into account the updating of the arsenal, radar (ROFAR), etc. ... and by that time the Japanese will not tell ?

Andrey, good evening. It is unlikely that I will answer your questions to the Japanese fighter, and I have nothing to do with Japan. And about ours, I would like to hope that our designers laid the possibility of deep modernization in this machine.

Without this, nowhere ... SU-57 is created for 50 years at least. This was repeatedly said in Sukhoi Design Bureau. So consider it. But while the SU-57 is "raw" ... the arsenal has not been finalized, the product 30 is only for flight tests ... here the info about ROFAR skips by 19-20 ... in general, we'll see. So far, for the next 10 years, the main MFI will become SU-35 and this is reality.

I will tell you so, our combat pilots are good professionals and this is true. Su-35S is a wonderful fighter, but also requiring improvements and modernization. Imagine for a moment that ROFAR was installed on the SU-30,34,35 ... What will this mean? That stealth technology, on which mattresses made the main bet, can be thrown into the trash, since ROFAR is deeply stealth or not stealth in front of it, he will see everything perfectly at long range.
And about the Japanese prototype ... well, you can also talk about the animation in the video about the Turkish 5th generation fighter.

What pleased us with this news -
"The 5th generation F-35 fighter-bomber proposed by American developers did not meet the needs of the Japanese Air Force. They needed a maneuverable fighter to gain superiority in the air, rather than a clumsy" cow ". (C)

And the F-35 is not a fighter, but rather a bomber attack aircraft with a claim to fighter functions. He does not even need outstanding maneuverability. Again, mattresses rely very much on stealth, the technology of which has been known since the 60s and is no longer as much know-how as during the F-117 ... for mattresses, fighter planes upgrade this F-15, F-16 and F -18 who are really air fighters.

Attack aircraft just in a rather logical way get a good horizontal maneuverability (Rafale, F / A-18), simply due to the very large wing area, with all the ensuing negative consequences for the dynamics.

True, the Su-35 with wing loading is still better, as well as with traction.

There is a nuance, the Japanese made their car before asking them to sell them f22, and they will do it regardless of the decision. Most likely the Japanese insist on f22 knowing that they will not get it 110%, this is part of the US claims to Japan.
But here Mitsubishi is amazing, like a corporation from a Japanese film about the future, a giant monster releasing everything from pens and beer, to spaceships and satellites. Having his own army of military, politicians and police officers. Another devil knows what they are keeping quiet about.

Well, it’s too early to talk about getting ahead, X2 is not even a technology demonstrator, so a test of strength. But here is the fact that the Yapps are actively working to restore their military-industrial complex a signal for action.

If this is a prototype, then obviously a light fighter, and then questions arise. And why does he need TWO engines for a light fighter is not the best solution, since there is too much excess weight ... Let's see what they get. But it’s not yet clear what they overtook the very Americans ...

The aerodynamic design of the aircraft repeats the F-22, NOTHING NEW. Also, like the Su-57 repeats the F-22.
And the F-22 will soon retire. Here and judge the achievements of followers.

      NOTHING NEW

Maybe. Then, according to your logic, since the invention of the first rocket in ancient Greece by Alix Sin, 400th century BC, there is also nothing new in space exploration and rocket technology. But if we talk about the aerodynamic schemes of aircraft made using the stealth technology, then it is probably more correct to talk about the works of professors E.N. Vasiliev and P.Ya. Ufimtseva. V.A. Fock. Namely, numerical methods for solving scattering problems based on integral equations were used in the first electrodynamic models of objects with reduced radar visibility. This is roughly the beginning of the end of the 50s. And only after 30 years something like that could fly.

They are afraid of North Korea. The Chinese intensified enormously while they swallowed up world industry, but then who knows what ambitions might arise. Given that they "dearly love" the Japanese after everything they did during the war. The Americans are allies, but given that the president is inadequate, you can only rely on yourself. Therefore, they riveted a new Zero, as in the good old days.

Especially for wooden: - representatives of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries emphasize that the X-2 is only a prototype with “glider, engines and other modern systems and equipment that can be used in future fighters. " The combat version will receive the designation F-3 and will probably be adopted not earlier than 2030.
