Official Beijing pays close attention to the situation in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China and is extremely concerned about the threat posed by the Islamists. According to Chinese foreign intelligence, at least 3000 Uighurs are in the ranks of ISIL and other terrorist groups. Most of them received initial training in Afghanistan, and then were transferred to Syria and Iraq.
Beijing is confident that Turkish intelligence is directly supporting the Islamists. Moreover, there are assumptions about the involvement and Saudi special services. If Turkey and Saudi Arabia continue to attempt to destabilize the situation in China, Beijing will be forced to respond to them harshly.
It should be understood that such actions by Turkey and Saudi Arabia are hardly complete without the support of the West. Indeed, in Afghanistan there is the largest NATO intelligence center in Central Asia, from where work is under way to destabilize the situation in neighboring countries.
