The Strategic Missile Forces continue to supply promising engineering weapons to increase the maneuverability and survivability of mobile-based combat missile systems, including the engineering support and camouflage machine (MIOM) and the remote demining machine (MDR), the Defense Ministry’s information and mass communications department said RF

Up to 2020, about Foliage 20 remote clearance vehicles will arrive at the RVSN connections. In accordance with the state contract, the Strategic Missile Forces connections will also receive about 50 engineering and camouflage vehicles by this deadline.

Up to 2020, about “Foliage” 20 remote clearance vehicles will arrive at the RVSN connections.

The MDR was tested in August 2013 at the proving ground near Krasnoarmeysky (Moscow region). It refers to a vehicle operating on new physical principles — a microwave unit (UHF) unit is installed on the armored car. Previously, this technology was not used to eliminate explosive devices at a distance.

Mines and land mines electronics "Foliage" is able to detect at a distance of 100 meters in the sector 30 degrees. The machine was created specifically for the Strategic Missile Forces. In the future, it will be used to escort columns of Yars mobile missile systems.

Along with this, before the 2020 of the year, more than 300 units of engineering equipment are planned to be supplied to the engineering units of the RVSN compounds: engineering obstacles, heavy mechanized bridges, excavators, automobile cranes and other engineering weapons. More than 50% of the supplied engineering equipment will be a wheeled road vehicle designed specifically for the Strategic Missile Forces this year.

I would make captive prisoners do this.

It is possible to make something, but as practice shows, for the quality performance of the work you need to do everything yourself ...

The machine is very necessary. The experience in Syria has shown. It is not clear how remotely it is possible to neutralize an ordinary land mine. Most likely I do not see the other way by microwave heating the fuse.

Most of the information about the MDL “Foliage” is still classified, but some fragmentary data has already been made publicly available.

It would be necessary to change the chassis

Placing this system on such a chassis makes it vulnerable. It’s enough for divers to dig up the road to stop it ... You need to use the BTR-80 chassis, or better the BTR-90, with an 8 by 8 wheel formula, and not this communist ghost reminiscent of the antediluvian BTR -152, with very limited cross
