How “Foliage” “Yarsu” cleared the road

62
The Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports on the progress of exercises of the Strategic Missile Forces. Particular emphasis is placed on the fact that during the training activities the troops used the “Foliage” remote demining machine for the first time. The application was carried out to clear the route of the Yars mobile ground-based missile complex.

The legend of the exercise was as follows: the saboteurs laid on the road along which the "Yars" walked, near 20 explosive devices with remote control. These explosive devices were supposed to be powered by ordinary mobile phones. MDR "Foliage" found installed mines thanks to emitters. Explosions were made.

From the message press service Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
All bookmarks were destroyed. The units of the Yars mobile missile system for which these “surprises” were intended were at that time at a great distance from the explosion site and could not be harmed. The MDR (“Foliage”) defused all explosive devices without exception: not only on the sidelines and the road, but also at a distance of 70 meters from the road itself.

For reference: MDR mines and land mines can be detected at a distance of up to 100 m. The detection sector is 30 degrees. An electronic pulse of microwave radiation is used to destroy explosive devices.

How “Foliage” “Yarsu” cleared the road

Press Service Office:
The machine was created specifically for the Strategic Missile Forces and proved its effectiveness in the course of command-staff exercises with the Novosibirsk missile compound.

It is reported that by the year 2020 more than 300 units of various types of engineering equipment will be supplied to the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces, as well as truck cranes, mechanized bridges, etc.

An explosive can be detected only by a gas analyzer, and even better by a dog, no explosive can be detected by a radar; only electronic circuits for detonating an explosive can be detected by a radar; if there is no electromagnetic circuit, then there is nothing to detect

So I write, a gas analyzer, that's just the question, but if the explosives in a plastic bag or pressure cooker have just been laid down, how many particles that the laser gas analyzer can detect have time to stand out? And if the wind is strong, or rain, then how?

It passes, but it is not in a hurry, and in the case of a search for explosives, it is rush that is needed, and the glue closed with a plastic cover does not dry, if the connection is tight, fluoric acid, for example, the glass eats up, so it is stored in plastic containers

And there is an explosive without a nitrite component. Whereas? Moreover, it is precisely these explosives that "boil in place", that is, they are ideally suited for terrorists and not suitable for the army, because they are unstable and are not stored.

Probably, it uses the principle of scanning and detecting subsurface soil disturbances when comparing it with a standard. I don’t know how effective. I saw similar South African cars in Namibia that are also looking for mines, but there’s a slightly different principle - there, the mustache and clapper machines have a clapper that triggers a seismic signal that is picked up by a mustache. The disadvantage of those cars is that they see mines only those that are next to the "mustache" —that is pretty close to the car. But it is there that they look for mines deep in the earth, and in our case, most likely, it is a superficial violation and close to the surface. Actually probably more is not necessary.

The detection depth for a given radar system is highly dependent on soil moisture. But even this is not critical, because at a distance of 100 meters, a large radiation power is not needed. Judging by the fact that a waveguide in the decimeter range is used, and not a coaxial cable, the capacities there are not small, but the reconnaissance depth at a distance of 100 m is most likely not more than 1 meter. But the removal in front of the second antenna of the meter range probably allows you to detect metal at a depth of 10 meters. Such antennas in the simplified version have long been used by geologists and communication services to find the cable.

MDR “Foliage” is capable of detecting at a distance of up to 100 m. The detection sector is 30 degrees. An electronic pulse of microwave radiation is used to destroy explosive devices.

I wonder at what distance remote destruction works. This can also undermine the ammunition in the tank. Hid somewhere "in the ruins", put up the antenna, a tank column is coming and their shells begin to explode, and most importantly it will be difficult to establish the place from where they are being attacked.

at what distance does remote destruction work

In this case, the destruction takes place by the usual methods of remote detonation, "List" determines only the fact of availability and the exact location.
Although theoretically, heavy-duty microwave radiation from vircators or V-bombs can undermine ammunition. because powerful sparks slip through at all joints of metal with metal, and if at that time the projectile is in the barrel, then undermining is guaranteed. I saw the power cable, computers, monitors to pieces from the use of similar microwave ammunition, but I didn’t show pictures with ammunition, I was probably afraid to do such experiments.
