The A-330 MRTT for the French Air Force differs from the standard A-330 MRTT with modified structural elements, enhanced aerodynamic characteristics to reduce fuel consumption by 1%, upgraded on-board computer and additional military systems.

This machine is created by upgrading the standard A-330 old building. Before her first A-330 MRTT enhanced version (MRTT Enhanced), ordered by singaporemade its first flight in September 2016 of the year.

It is assumed that the A-330 MRTT, planned for delivery to the French air fleet under the designation “Phoenix” (Phenix; Phoenix), will be equipped with Thales avionics with Trent 700 aircraft engines manufactured by Rolls-Royce, a refueling system including a refueling rod (ARBS) and winged containers with a refueling unit with a hose and a docking station.
It is possible to adapt the product to carry passengers to 272. A medical evacuation version is available with the MORPHEE intensive care module for 10 patients and 88 passengers. In this case, the cargo hatch will simplify the loading of bedridden patients. It also allows you to use A-330 MRTT to perform transport tasks.
