The Aurora Design Bureau (Ryazan) has developed an unmanned transport platform Mars A-800 for the Russian army, capable of independently moving both on land and on water. The platform is designed to accompany the motorized rifle and airborne units, their transport and logistics.
Mars A-800 is made on the basis of the Tinger amphibian tracked platform, produced by the eponymous company from Cherepovets. Platform length - 3 m, width - 2,15 m, height - 1,27 m. Its weight reaches 950 kg. At the same time, the mass of the transported goods amounts to 500 kg. In particular, up to four people or various cargoes, including ammunition, special equipment and weapons, can be placed on board. The platform can move over land at speeds up to 35 km / h, and on water at speeds up to 5 km / h.
The platform can be operated in various locations under different weather conditions. The operating temperature range is from -40 to + 40 degrees Celsius. There is the possibility of round-the-clock work. Additional realizable opportunities include group use, as well as the possibility of landing with the aid of a parachute system. In 2016, the Mars A-800 platform was tested on the basis of the Ryazan Airborne School, which resulted in positive reviews.
