MiG-29UM1 - Ukrainian version of the modernization of the Soviet fighter MiG-29. Modernization of the MiG-29 to the level of the MiG-29MU1 is aimed at increasing the detection range of air targets, improving the accuracy of bringing the aircraft to a given point and expanding the possibilities for monitoring and recording the functional parameters of the aircraft’s technical condition, engine and a number of onboard systems.
In the course of the modernization, the fighter is undergoing a major overhaul with a life extension at the Lviv Aircraft Repair Plant, painted in "pixel" camouflage, the receiver of the Orion-Navigation satellite navigation system CH-3307 integrated into the AIR system is installed on the aircraft (due to which the accuracy of navigation and distance use of automated instrumental landing tools), Fazotron-Ukraine specialists replace the H019-09 receiver unit with the H019 on-board radar (which made it possible to increase its reliability in even using a new, more modern element base to 10-20 thousands of hours). In addition, it is reported on the expansion of the radio frequency spectrum to the requirements of ICAO.
