The Ministry of Defense plans to create selection points for future contractors throughout Russia.
As reported by RIA "News", The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is going to open a whole network of points for the selection of contract service. This was announced by the Chief of the Main Personnel Directorate of the Military Department, Lieutenant General V. Goremykin.
Goremykin noted that the Ministry of Defense wants to create a network of points throughout Russia, including in many capitals of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. These points will become the territorial divisions of the personnel departments of military districts.
Goremykin added that the staff of the new points will solve a whole range of tasks: from working with school students to processing the personal files of candidates for contract military personnel and sending future professionals to training centers or universities of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Goremykin, in some regions of the country selection points have already begun to be established. The Ministry of Defense expects that they will earn in the near future. According to the general, the main task now is to attract specialists to the points and train them in the specifics of the selection of candidates for professional military personnel.
Goremykin also noted that personnel specialists will not be guided by quantitative selection indicators. They will act according to the well-known Leninist principle: “Better less, yes better.”
Goremykin also explained that the name “recruiting station”, which has a negative analogy with the American army name, was not to the liking of the Russian military. The general explained that in Russia it is not the army of mercenaries that is being formed, but “the corps of the defenders of the Fatherland. It sounds, perhaps, somewhat lofty, but it is. ” Therefore, the general said, it was decided to call these institutions the selection points for military service under the contract.
The head of the main personnel department said that in order to attract contract candidates, the Ministry of Defense advertises service in the army. Currently, it is intended to use campaign cars among other advertising media. They will travel to Russian cities and villages.
As for agitation, the general noted, emphasis will be placed on informing citizens on various issues of contractual military service. The general noted that a citizen would not be asked to join the army if he did not explain the conditions of service. The candidate must clearly represent the social package, the place of service and the line of service, as well as his future position. “Believe me,” Goremykin said, “this is a very complicated, not formalistic work.”
The general said that future defense professionals, soldiers and sergeants, judging by recent surveys, are mainly concerned with financial incentives: decent pay, the prospect of free housing and higher education.
The general noted that the service growth of the military will directly affect the size of his monetary allowance. For a professional sergeant or foreman, the allowance increases as compared to the rank and file of a private soldier. An ordinary gunner, promoted to platoon service, will receive a salary almost like an officer. Satisfaction also depends on the class level of the military serviceman.
The head of the GUK also added that in the near future, the combined principle of recruiting the Russian army will continue, but the proportion of professionals in it will constantly grow.
