Germany transferred to Lithuania copies of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact protocols

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius told the press that Germany handed copies of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact with several maps to official Vilnius. Copies of the documents were transferred from the Political Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. In Lithuania, they stated that copies of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact protocols will be exhibited from 2018 at the Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas.

Despite the fact that the content of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact is well known, this is an important event for us. Germany gave us scanned copies of the secret protocols of the pact. We hope that other countries will follow the example of Germany and open access to archives for Lithuanian historians.
I wonder if Lithuania itself is ready to open its own archives for historians from other countries of the world and its own. But in the archives of the era of the existence of at least the Lithuanian SSR, you can, without doubt, find a lot of interesting things. For example, about the fruitful work of Linas Antanas Linkyavichus himself as secretary of the Komsomol district committee in Kaunas and as head of the Komsomol Central Committee of the Lithuanian SSR. A lot of interesting things can be found in the archives and about the “heroic” past of the current President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, who, to put it mildly, was not alien to the work of the Soviet special services ...
