The military personnel of the missile formation of the combined arms army of the Western Military District (ZVO) stationed in the Kursk region, began the practical stage of tactical exercises with a combat launch at the Kapustin Yar testing ground in the Astrakhan region, reports press office Western Military District Ministry of Defense.
Combat calculations will be performed by dozens of electronic launches from tactical missile systems "Tochka-U" singly and as part of units, practicing missile strikes against targets that simulate command posts, airfields and field stocks of a conditional enemy.
At the end of the exercise, practical combat launches will be held.
Earlier, the personnel of the missile compound made a march in a combined way and, having overcome more than 1,5 thousands of kilometers by rail and road, arrived in the designated area. Here rocket engineers completed engineering equipment positions with the organization of the security and defense systems.
The rocket formation exercises are planned, they involve up to 500 military personnel and more than 100 units of weapons, military and special equipment.
