US armored vehicles "dress" in European camouflage

72
American troops stationed in Germany are adapting their armored vehicles to combat operations in Europe. The beginning of the transition to the camouflage system Barracuda MCS (mobile camouflage system) from the Swedish company Saab, put the 2 th cavalry regiment of the US Army, reports "Warspot" with reference to the portal defensenews.com

Stryker armored personnel carriers in MCS camouflage

The first to receive a new camouflage system were the Stryker armored personnel carriers from the 2 Cavalry Regiment of the US Army stationed in Filsaccus (Bavaria). Barracuda MCS camouflage for “Striker" is a relief camouflage fabric with elements of green and brown colors of various shades.

New camouflage masks technology in the optical and infrared spectra. In addition, Barracuda partially hides cars from radar, and can also be equipped with a system that reduces visibility for thermal imagers. According to the US military command, the troops have already received four sets of new camouflage, and in the next two months it will be tested. If the camouflage system meets the requirements of the military, then a significant number of Barracuda MCS kits will be purchased for American armored vehicles.

Barracuda MCS camouflage is a multi-layer modular system that can be easily mounted on armored vehicles. If necessary, it can be dismantled or changed to a similar masking with a different color. According to Scott Caldwell, head of the Barracuda division at Saab, the first sets were provided to the Americans for free. If the experience of using Swedish camouflage is successful, then Saab will be able to produce Barracuda MCS for other models of American military equipment.

It was attached to the XXXXVI tank corps (4th Panzer Group, Army Group Center), and was involved in fierce battles on the approaches to Moscow (where its tanks were first painted in desert camouflage).

Of course not. Only if necessary, nothing can prevent the tailwind, carry the fire of a forest fall into the depths of the enemy’s defense, when their green "shirt" will no longer match the surrounding color scheme. We’re sleeping on a hair dryer, and then we will carry out reforestation. The benefit of seedlings in our taiga is enough for three Europe without bald spots.
It seemed interesting to me to use the experience of hunters of fishermen with a bird trap (from 1m 56 s. Roller) to camouflage a fighter with ATGM. Swedes, those are still hunters. I wonder who Saab unfastened the fee for using the idea of an automatic trap?

There are MANPADS. And what, nafik, MANPADS in the forest? Although, of course, it is possible to use for ATGMs.
But as I understand it, each set is individual for technology. There is no universality. It turns out that for each new modification you need to make your own kit. Camouflage will also be written off along with the equipment. Dolce Gabana somehow turns out.

This is clear. I wonder how they plan to use this hat. Oversized + mechanical construction. It is problematic to haul it assembly over forests and coppices. Need assembly in place. The place must be defined accordingly as the "place of the likely attack of the enemy", and it may become so that the direction of the attack changes. After the babah, one must change the position. It is clear that a destroyed tank costs millions, and such a “hat” is at best thousands, but nonetheless, its use as a shelter in a wooded area is unpromising. In short, a one-time "hat". But to get such a crap for goose hunting - yes! It’s worth confusing that you would do something like this and reach the swamp, and then use it stationary on a goose flight every year. Now I’ll break my head, how to implement these things from 8mm wire, springs and masks. what After all, such a system (but small) has long been known, and they did not dare to increase it to the size of an arrow.

The essence of the masking technique is that the object is covered with perforated masking elements located at angles to each other. Radiations from a masked object repeatedly reflecting and refracting blur the image, and heat dissipates over a large surface area and mixes with the flows of ambient air.
