The Jordanian army is considering the possibility of adopting domestically produced armored personnel carriers. Jordanian defense company King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) is conducting tests of its first combat vehicle with a wheel formula 8 × 8, transmits "Warspot" with a link to the janes.com portal.
The new armored carrier was named Almared and is based on the TATRA 8 × 8 chassis. Last year, the Czech company TATRA announced that KADDB was developing its own armored vehicle and for this, bought 50 Czech off-road chassis with the wheel formula 8 × 8.

For the first time, plans to develop an eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier by KADDB became known in 2015 year. Then the company presented at the DSEI 2015 exhibition a large-scale model of a new combat vehicle, stating that the BTR would be multi-purpose and could be equipped with various weapons, including 105-mm guns.
Almared has an all-metal armored case protected by the fourth level STANAG 4569 and is equipped with mounts for mounting mounted armor, which improves the armor to the fifth level. The bottom of the machine has a V-shaped, which ensures the dispersion of the blast wave when undermined by a mine or land mine. The mass of the Jordanian armored personnel carrier reaches 25 t, and the engine capacity of 420 l. with. able to accelerate it to 100 km / h. Inside the car can accommodate up to 9 people, including two crew members.
