On the basis of Decree No. 549, signed by the President of the Russian Federation on 31 March, March 2006, the 29 of March is the annual professional military holiday in our country as the Day of the Specialist of the Legal Service of the RF Armed Forces. More often to simplify the holiday is referred to as the Day of Military Lawyer. Why is this day chosen as a holiday date?

March 29 in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation celebrates the Day of the specialist of the legal service

Everything is explained by the fact that on March 29, 1836, by order of Emperor Nicholas I, the Ministry of War was created with the position of military legal adviser approved in its composition. Just this fact does not mean at all that in Russia previously the concept of military legal activity was completely absent. It was, and developed quite actively from the time of Peter the Great - at the same time as the army was rapidly developing and fleet. Those people who are commonly called military lawyers in the XNUMXth century made considerable efforts to create military documents that eventually became part of charters and circulars that ensured the construction of not only the power component of the empire, but its very essence as a huge state on the Eurasian continent.

Military Specialists stories tend to see the creation of the first military law school in the country 24 on April 1719, when Peter I ordered several young people to be trained (according to some sources, they were 20) in the science of auditing. This concept included not only audit or fiscal, but also prosecutorial activities. For training, it was initially planned to invite people with relevant knowledge and experience from a number of European countries to Russia, including Germany and Britain. Then it was decided that the noble children themselves will be sent to study law in Europe.

In the archival documents telling about that era, there is no data about Russian noble children sent to European countries to study the “science of auditing affairs”, which gave historians something to think about whether such “children” were found at all. In a number of sources it is stated that as a result, Peter sent for training those foreigners who had already managed to prove themselves in the legal field in Russia.

In Russia, the first school that can be called a military law school, appeared 185 years ago - in November 1832. We are talking about the so-called Auditor School.

In the middle of the XIX century, the Russian Empire acquired the Military Law Academy, which in fact embodied the idea of Peter the Great. The Military Law Academy appeared as a continuer of the Audit School. After several “set-up” years, only officers who had some military experience at that time were accepted into the academy. In particular, the military students in the rank up to the captain, who served in military positions for at least 4 years, became students of the academy.
From the history of the Academy it is known that by the beginning of the 80-ies of the XIX century, foreign military personnel began to receive it. The first foreigners to enter the Russian Military Law Academy were officers from the Bulgarian and Serbian armies.

The last head of the academy (by the time they were called Alexandrovskaya) before its closing by the Bolsheviks in 1917 was Alexey Zvonnikov. Aleksey Ivanovich himself was a graduate of this educational institution, having graduated from the Academy with a silver medal in 1894. Moreover, he was honored with a high honor - his name was entered on a marble board, and he himself was promoted to captain.
Alma Mater Alexei Zvonnikov headed in 1912 year. Before being appointed to this position and during the leadership of the academy, he was actively engaged in military journalism.

The service of military lawyers was, for obvious reasons, in demand at the dawn of Soviet power. Despite the slogan "to the ground, and then," they built a new world, often looking around at what was destroyed by that moment. In the same vein, the fate of the military legal service in Soviet Russia and later in the USSR also took shape. Soviet military lawyers had to carry out truly titanic work on the construction of completely new armed forces, and although the methods were used far from always purely humanitarian, the end result was achieved - an efficient army was created in a relatively short time with a phased discipline, a system for implementing statutory requirements and other things related to the army "factor".

Soviet military lawyers took a direct part in the Nuremberg trial, as a result of which the Nazi criminals were convicted, and as a result of which an assessment of the Nazi ideology was given.

Today, when in some states of the world, including those who themselves were members of the Nuremberg Tribunal, the Nazi destructive ideology again raises its head and finds ardent supporters even in the camp of the authorities, Nuremberg-2 becomes quite relevant.

And who knows, perhaps, the day is not far off when the Russian military lawyers at the new “Nuremberg” process will act as a prosecution side for the followers of the Nazi trash uplifted in the gymnasium of Nuremberg prison in October 1946.

The Nuremberg trials are a worthy page in history. And in the present? At a high level, something may work, but at the bottom .... Complete chaos and lack of professionalism. Talk to the guys involved in housing and everything will become clear. Be that as it may, professionals and those in love with their business on the holiday! All the best!

It is necessary for military men to bathe in fountains, otherwise the people will not feel the holiday and will not remember it. It’s a bit chilly in March, but it’s necessary! A holiday after all!
