Kiev has exhausted the quotas of duty-free deliveries to the European Union
In addition, "on 96%, the quotas for processed tomatoes and for 84% for wheat were used, and in Q1 of the current year the quota for the import of poultry meat was completely exhausted."
A similar situation with the early use of quotas was observed last year, businessmen said.
Meanwhile, according to the ASTC, in the 2017 year, “quotas should be increased for duty-free exports of natural honey, cereals and flour, processed tomatoes, grape juice and cereals - oats, wheat, corn and barley”.
However, this did not happen.
The publication reminds that, in accordance with the Association Agreement with the EU from 2014, “Ukraine received the right to supply duty free items to the 36 EU in the framework of the approved volumes of tariff quotas, while for other groups of goods the customs duties were reduced”. Subsequent trading practice has shown that quotas are chosen by Ukrainian manufacturers before the completion of the first half of the year.
According to experts, after 3, after the signing of the Agreement, the European sales market was not open to the Ukrainian business, which is why enterprises massively cease their activities.
According to the State Statistics Service, “for 2015 a year, the number of active enterprises in Ukraine decreased by 6,4 thousand,” and as a result of 2016, 1,5 thousand companies went bankrupt. Currently, about 2 thousands of enterprises are in bankruptcy.
