The American coalition has supplied the Syrian "Democrats" armored vehicles
36
Information Agency Reuters reports that the armed forces, calling themselves "the forces of democratic Syria" (SDS), for the first time received armored vehicles from the so-called American anti-terrorist coalition. In the VTS they position themselves as fighters against the so-called “Islamic state” (prohibited in the Russian Federation).
The representative of the VTS, to which the news agency refers, reports that military-technical assistance was previously supplied by the countries of the American coalition, but armored vehicles of the VTS units, consisting of both Arabs and Kurds, are arming for the first time. What kind of armored vehicles in question, not yet reported.
From the statement:
We see signs that the support of our forces acting against the IS, by the new American administration is greater than it was before.
Armed detachments of the VTS are involved in the fight against ISI militants in the region of the Syrian settlement of Raqqah, which is considered the “capital” of ISIL. Recall that the American coalition last fall announced the start of an operation to free Raqqa, and then the Pentagon decided to suspend the operation until the spring of 2017.
If the supply of VTS armored vehicles is true, then it can be concluded from this that the administration of Donald Trump seriously intends to use the various forces that are fighting against the "Islamic State". By and large, it fits into the format of Trump's statements about the need to intensify the fight against LIH. A separate question: will the aforementioned “forces of democratic Syria” be ready to disarm when the ISIS in the same Raqqah are finished?
