Serbian Defense Ministry will receive from Belarus 8 fighter jets MiG-29 and 2 of the Buk air defense system, reports RIA News the message of the head of the Serbian military department Zoran Djordjevic.
The equipment will be transferred free of charge. The Serbian side will have to pay only for its repair and modernization.
We will negotiate with Belarus on the purchase of well-known C-300 systems, we are talking about the C-300В and С-300П versions that they have. They will be the subject of our negotiations, but whether they will be put into service with the Serbian army depends on further detailed analysis and agreements,
told Djordjevic.
He also called Belarusian trucks and construction equipment “interesting for the Serbian army”. In addition, according to the minister, “a large space for cooperation between the parties is the repair and modernization of various weapons systems of Russian origin.”
Details of military-technical cooperation will be discussed from May of this year. A joint commission will be established for this.
