Serbian Armed Forces will receive a gift MiG-29 and Buk air defense system

Serbian Defense Ministry will receive from Belarus 8 fighter jets MiG-29 and 2 of the Buk air defense system, reports RIA News the message of the head of the Serbian military department Zoran Djordjevic.

The equipment will be transferred free of charge. The Serbian side will have to pay only for its repair and modernization.

We will negotiate with Belarus on the purchase of well-known C-300 systems, we are talking about the C-300В and С-300П versions that they have. They will be the subject of our negotiations, but whether they will be put into service with the Serbian army depends on further detailed analysis and agreements,
told Djordjevic.

He also called Belarusian trucks and construction equipment “interesting for the Serbian army”. In addition, according to the minister, “a large space for cooperation between the parties is the repair and modernization of various weapons systems of Russian origin.”

Details of military-technical cooperation will be discussed from May of this year. A joint commission will be established for this.

Pavel, welcome! I do not quite understand, 6 MiG 29 under the same conditions, Serbs receive in Russia, 8 MiG from Belarus, in the amount of 14 units. The Belarusian migrants are likely to be modernized in Russia. Instead, the Russian Federation will supply Sushki to Belarus or not?
With the BUK air defense system, everything is extremely clear.

Serbia never supported international UN sanctions against us.
Russia, unlike Serbia, supported virtually all UN decisions in 90, without using its veto power. Including the resolution 757 in which the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Montenegro, as the main culprits of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, received sanctions without precedent in the history of the UN.

So your sarcasm regarding "bros" is inappropriate.
Thanks to the EBN team, our fault in Serbia is quite objective.

In conscience, Russia should not have supported the UN decision. Unlike Yeltsin, Lukashenko not only publicly declared the inadmissibility of the bombing of Yugoslavia, but also personally flew to Belgrade to support Milosevic. During the flight, NATO fighters intercepted the plane, forced it to lower altitude and demanded to change course . But despite this, Lukashenko ordered not to turn around and continue the flight.

The news was truncated, here is more detailed. The delegation of the Government of Serbia, headed by Prime Minister Alexander Vučić, paid a visit to Belarus on January 26-27. One of the documents signed by the parties during the visit was an intergovernmental agreement on military-technical cooperation. In an interview with the Serbian television from Minsk, Vučić, without going into details, said that there was a discussion of “POTENTIAL PURCHASE on the most favorable terms for fighters and air defense systems.” PARALLEL Serbia expects deliveries from Russia of six MiG-29 fighters, Buk systems, dozens units of tanks and other armored vehicles as part of the provision of military-technical assistance. The relevant agreements were reached by Moscow and Belgrade in 2016.

In this case, the repair involves the modernization of machines to the requirements of the buyer and pre-sale service, and scrap is not needed for nothing. Therefore, it (the so-called repair) is carried out at the expense of the buyer! No need to invent anything - the Serbs are not the fools with whom you are trying to expose them. hi
