The state order before the 2020 of the year on the Il-476 will be more than one hundred units, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta. It will be purchased as a military transport version of the IL-476, and flying information centers and special vehicles for the Ministry of Emergency Situations. According to Dmitry Rogozin, deliveries of transport aircraft for the Ministry of Defense will begin in 2014-15, while financing the construction of new aircraft will begin in 2012-13.

Production of IL-476 deployed at the plant "Aviastar". IL-476 is a deep modernization of the military transport IL-76. The updated aircraft received a wing of the new design, which is designed for take-off weight of 210 t. This figure for IL-76 is equal to 190 t. version. The first two aircraft should be commissioned in 2013,” said Sergei Dementyev, Director Aviastar.

The bulk of the equipment and machine tools at the plant remained from Soviet times.
