In 2018, the new "Phobos-Soil" can be launched to MarsIf this project is implemented, Russia will be able to reach a leading position in the field of space exploration.

Russia needs to continue research of Phobos - the satellite of Mars. This was stated by Lev Green, the head of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to Green, the Phobos-Grunt apparatus to Mars could be launched in the 2018 year. In turn, Alexander Zheleznyakov, an academician of the Russian Academy of Cosmonautics, believes that these studies are priorities for Russia, since no country is engaged in such developments.

The backlog that was made under the Phobos program should not disappear, but research in this direction should continue. At what time, in what form, is the second question, whether it will happen in 2018 or a little later, but this, of course, is a very interesting topic, especially considering that other countries do not have such programs. Russia, having implemented this project, will be able to once again take a leading position in the field of interplanetary research.

Recall the interplanetary space station Phobos-Grunt, which launched 9 in November from Baikonur to Mars, could not reach the calculated trajectory due to the failure of the automation.

From childhood, I had no doubt that Mars would be mastered by Russians, everyone then read
"Aelita" - by Alexei Nikolayevich Tolstoy written in 1923

And I believe, - said Khokhlov.
      - Will fly?
      - Here, that, that - will fly by. Now, in Europe, then they will rise.
      - Who will break in?
      - How, who will rush in? Our enemies will rise. On, now, bite it, - Mars whose? - Soviet.
      - Yes, that would be great.

Space exploration is an entirely necessary activity that shows technological power. Not many countries in the world can send their rocket into space, but the more human.

And let's try to dream about how best to conquer space.

Such a fantasy. THIS IS ONLY ONE FANTASY, do not judge strictly fellow !!!
Let's make space chamber! Having previously worked out a set of laws and rules for this matter.
Those. We will make space flights not only a state occupation, but allow various companies and corporations to build their cosmotromes and launch their own rockets from them! Conduct your research.
And as a rent, we will take part of scientific achievements, technologies, discoveries, money.
Imagine how the camera base will increase the development of space technology? Maybe of course they will not get the same kick as the development of microelectronics, but they will develop clearly faster than with the state sacrifice.
And perhaps such a development will also make space exploration cheaper due to competition.

            I see it differently.
First of all, it is necessary to develop breakthrough technology for flights - so that the flight is cheap.
The only option to reduce the cost of flight is wireless power transmission.
Those. something like a microwave radar should transmit electricity to the ship, and the ship should catch it and use it for dispersal (heating the substance to millions of degrees).
The most interesting thing is that no new discoveries are needed for this - everything has already been open for a long time.
By the way, the first spaceport (for launching spacecraft into space) can be organized only on the territory of Russia - only here you can install such a long chain of repeaters that would continuously feed the taking-off ship with energy.
But it can be a very expensive project (trillions of dollars, or whatever will be soon instead) - cooperation is needed, as for the construction of the first railways.
            PS
By the way, the same energy-transmitting radars will do a great job of protecting the territory from all types of flying threats - from cruise missiles to satellites.

It looks like the guys re-read science fiction. So they stayed in childhood. Hey, Martians, now is not 61 years old and we do not live in the Union and there is no second Queen and will not be. Are you going to Mars? You dear, descend from the clouds to the ground and look around. "We will be the first to be on Mars" All our latest technologies are Chubais's nanolight, in which he invested several billions. With such successes, we will not be on Mars, but in deep F @ ne.

And who said that Russia should pull this project alone.
The current crisis is due to the fact that investors have nowhere to invest money and everyone hopes for a miracle - whatever the new discovery will absorb the excess of world labor and finance.
Here is such a project and you can stir up.
A large international project is being organized (trillions for $ 10), the efforts of several countries are accumulating ...
Those who wish, if you submit the business plan correctly, should be full.
Even several countries will be enough for its implementation (for example, Russia, Germany, India + Europe, China, Japan ...).
So you can save the world from the crisis and fly into space ... and observe your interests.

If we consider the pros and cons, then we do not need Mars yet, but the moon is another matter. It is necessary to direct most of the funds to the creation and implementation of projects for the colonization of the moon, the creation of rocket bases there, and in the distant future, a cosmadrome for flying through the solar system and other stars.
At the beginning of the XXI century, China published its program for the exploration of the moon, which includes, in addition to delivering a lunar rover and sending soil to Earth, including the construction of inhabited lunar bases (2030).
George W. Bush on January 14, 2004 announced that the United States plans to create new manned spacecraft capable of delivering people and a lunar rover to the moon, with the goal of laying the first lunar bases by 2020.

Russia is technically ready to organize a manned flight to Mars in the early 2020s, says Academician Lev Zeleny, director of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“For Russia, it is priority, prestigious and realistically the first to carry out the astronaut’s landing on Mars. This task is economically and technically solvable, ”L. Zeleniy said. According to him, if we begin to prepare the flight in the near future, then the Russian cosmonauts can land on the surface of Mars in 2023-2025. To organize the expedition, L. Zelenyi believes, Russia has touched more than any other country, including USA.
“We now have some head start in this race, since we have the most experience in manned space exploration. Even in the bad 90s, the Mir station worked, then the ISS appeared. Thus, the chain of manned flights was not interrupted, ”the scientist said. In his opinion, a manned expedition should include unmanned elements, such as orbital vehicles and rovers, as most research problems can be solved by automatic devices.
“A person, in principle, for purely scientific purposes, does not have to fly to the Moon or Mars, it is economically unprofitable, but the desire to explore the new in human nature and, thank God, this impulse cannot be stopped,” the director of the institute said.
The organization of the landing of the Russian crew on another planet will raise Russia's prestige in the world, load the country's scientific and industrial capacities, and make it possible to introduce new technologies into life, L. Zeleniy said.
“The right to be the first to step on a new celestial body gives a tremendous effect for the prestige of the state, for the spirit of all mankind. Since childhood, I remember the impression of Gagarin’s flight. I saw something similar when the first tycoonaut was launched into space, and all of China, all one and a half billion people went out to sing on the streets. It seems that they found their national idea on this flight, ”L. Zelenyi said.
“Therefore, the task of man’s flight to Mars is not purely scientific, but I would say it is scientifically-politically prestigious,” he added.
The scientist also noted that Mars is the only place in the solar system where humans can land in the near future, so Russia needs to make the Martian program a priority, Interfax reports.
We lost the race for the moon, on Venus and Mercury the conditions are unsuitable for landing, in the long run landing on the moons of Jupiter is possible, but Mars is the last place in the solar system suitable for manned flight, ”L. Zeleniy emphasized.

I may not be a great specialist in astronautics, but what prevents the duplication of this Phobos? In general, I’ve thought all my life that several spacecraft are being created for testing and for flight. If there are drawings and technologies - what difference does it make how many blanks on the machine to make 1 or 2? Yes, the material will go away more, but I think the main thing here is still not the material, but the work of the designers, and it seems to be already finished. Repeat according to the finished drawings and launch it, if of course there is confidence in success.
And by 2020, Americans are going to launch a freak and an astronaut, and we are Phobos 2.0.
