The leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, died at the age of 90 years, reports RIA News with reference to France Press. Fidel’s death was also announced on Cuban television.
Fidel Castro is a legendary Cuban revolutionary, statesman and political figure born 13 August 1926. From December 1976, for 30 years, served as chairman of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, at the same time being commander-in-chief of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and chairman of the National Defense Council of the country.
Recall that as a result of the deterioration of his state of health at the end of July, 2006 Mr. Fidel Castro handed over duties and powers to his successor, Brother Raul.
