Poland sets conditions for normalizing relations with Russia
154
Poland announced its “conditions” for the normalization of relations with the Russian Federation. The statement on such conditions was made by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Witold Vashchikovsky. And he made a few days after Vladimir Putin uttered words to the new Polish ambassador to Moscow, Vladimir Marcinyak, about the need to restore full-fledged relations between the two countries.
From the statement by the President of Russia on November 9 (results Lenta.ru):
We believe that the restoration of political dialogue is possible on the basis of mutual respect and pragmatism. We are ready to do everything on our part in order to achieve this goal.
And this statement by Mr. Vashchikovsky, which can be interpreted as a Polish response to the Russian initiative (agency PAP):
I agree with this assessment, but I would emphasize the word "mutual". If Russia demands respect and pragmatism from us, then we also demand it from it. President Putin says that he is ready to do everything, I answer: you don’t need everything, let him start by giving up the wreckage (of the presidential Tu-154) and lifting the economic sanctions imposed on Poland. Then we will return to the pragmatic conversation.
This is an amazing statement, especially considering the fact that Poland itself signed the document on the need to return the wreckage of the Tu-154 only after the investigation and its recognition by all parties, but the Polish side is doing everything today to start the investigation again, not recognizing the experts' conclusions. Even more “interesting” in terms of sanctions ... Wasn’t Poland the first to introduce (as part of the EU) sanctions against the Russian Federation, and now she suddenly burst into tears about rotting Polish apples? ..
