Oksana Gavrilyuk, head of the communications and press department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reports that the Ukrainian army did not have time to prepare for winter. We are talking about the insecurity of those Ukrainian units that are in the zone of the so-called "ATO". According to Ms. Gavrilyuk, every 10-th Ukrainian soldier has not yet received winter clothing kits.
The statement by the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in which she talks about the ongoing process of providing winter clothing, leads Interfax-Ukraine:
Arranged to ensure the APU warm things. First of all, we are talking about military personnel who serve in the area of the ATO. At present, the military personnel who are involved in the ATO are provided with a warm form of clothing, but so far by 90%.
Gavrilyuk notes that 10% of military personnel are left without winter hats, jackets with insulation and winter linen. According to her, this is due to the fact that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not receive the proper number of sets of winter ammunition in time. At the same time, in the main military department “Square” they assert that the manufacturing companies received all the funds for the purchase of uniforms.
The servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces themselves say that they have to either buy winter clothing with their own funds or wait for supplies from Ukrainian volunteers.
