T-72 "Ural" - the main battle tank of the USSR. The most massive main battle tank of the second generation. Adopted in the Armed Forces of the USSR since 1973 year. T-72 designed and manufactured by Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil. The chief designer of the machine is VN Venediktov.


"Ural" is in service with the CIS countries, exported to the countries of the Warsaw Pact, Finland, India, Iran, Iraq, Syria. T-72 modifications were produced under license in Yugoslavia (M84), Poland (PT-91), Czechoslovakia and India, which, in turn, also exported them.
