A modified copy of the RPG-7 for the US Army

72
At an army conference in Washington, AirTronics USA presented the Precision Shoulder-Fired Rocket Launcher (PSRL-1) grenade launcher, which is a modernized clone of the Soviet RPG-7, reports MIC with reference to armyrecognition.com.

“The grenade launcher can fire all types of ammunition for RPGs, and is equipped with a pistol grip“ borrowed ”from the M4 / M16 rifle, as well as clamps for mounting Picatinny slats, on which additional accessories can be mounted”, - said in a statement.

Weight without sight - 6,35 kg. At the company's booth, it was demonstrated with Picatinny X-bars, a telescopic sight (the collimator sight is standard) and a bipod for firing while lying.

The collimator sight, according to the developers, makes it possible to hit the target at a distance of up to 800. Optical sights, on the other hand, can hit objects from a distance of up to 2 km.

As the newspaper notes, the Soviet RPG-7 is used by American military instructors to train allies in Iraq and Afghanistan. Grenade launchers are being bought in Bulgaria and Poland, where they are in service.

Reports on the development of RPG-7 clones first appeared in January 2015.

And I think that few bars were screwed! It was necessary to set not 6 but 12 in order to shoot from any position. And then the third head always interferes with the third one - it aims to sight in the sight. Definitely a stereo sight is needed.
And some kind of flimsy bipod - it’s necessary to make a half-inch out of it — the soldier in Merikosia has now gone bold, will bend at once. Anyway, why the device is not equipped with a table for drinks and a portable refrigerator and a dry closet? Obviously Russian sabotage done !!!
Again, why is nothing said or shown about "accessories" (I am not afraid of this word).
And most importantly - we still do not know the opinion of the gay community about the possibilities of using the device in order to satisfy the needs of the population of developed countries. For the sexual games of fighters in the end.

Yes, do not worry so much. This is a worldwide practice. We stole an atomic bomb from them. And the Chinese do not bother about this at all. Back in the early 70s, I was getting nuts when I saw our SKS-45 with a 4-sided bayonet and Chinese characters in the place of our room with a local fighter in Guinea.

But, if in garlic, then if the USSR had patented armaments, then the term had already expired.

“We developed two modifications of the RPG-7, which received the designation PSRL-1 (Precision, Shoulder-fired Rocket Launcher) and GS-777 (PSRL-2). Production of the first model, PSRL-1, will begin in the second quarter of 2016, ”said a representative of the American company during the international security exhibition Milipol-2015, held in Paris, reports TASS. RPG CS-777 Both grenade launchers retained the appearance of RPGs, but the use of new materials allowed to reduce weight and increase the level of reliability and ease of use compared to the Russian model. According to a company representative, the PSRL-1 received a new scope with a luminous insert, which should simplify its use in the dark. The mass of the second weapon modification, PSRL-2, was almost halved compared to the base RPG-7V2 - up to three and a half kilograms, while simultaneously increasing the life cycle to 1 thousand rounds. “It is possible to further increase the life of the PSRL-2 launcher,” he added. To simplify the development of the grenade launcher, the designers equipped it with a pistol grip and a stock similar to those installed on assault rifles and carbines of the M16 / M4 families. In both versions, the collimator sight manufactured by Eotech is used as a standard sighting device. It is allowed to install optical sights with a Picatinny mount (MIL-STD-1913) of greater magnification for firing at longer distances. According to a company representative, AirTronics USA has developed its own optical sight for new grenade launchers. It allows the operator to destroy the target at a distance of up to 800 meters with a 90 percent chance of hitting the first grenade. In addition, it is planned to create guided rocket-propelled grenades and bring the effective firing range of the PSLR-1 and PSLR-2 to 2 thousand meters. AirTronics USA also intends to develop a new line of ammunition for its grenade launchers, including cumulative and thermobaric.

right now they are tensing and from RPG 7 they will make a tou. about 800 meters with a 90 percent chance of hitting the first grenade. the sight with a grenade along the way is somehow inexplicable.

Most likely, this is a translator mistake, mixed up meters with feet. In principle, to create a powerful ammunition for the RPG-7 flying on the 800 m is quite realistic.

Native full-time weapon RPG-7V (dragged it for 5 years). If you evaluate an Amer product, then:
        1. Weight 6,3 kg (in the article) - has not changed compared to our regular RPG-7V (plus or minus grams). Reducing weight will be a big plus, we would not be in the way, but most likely this will reduce the resource of the product.
        2. The aiming range of the RPGs is up to 700 m with a fragmentation shot (did the Americans add 100 m due to the optical sight ??) The effectiveness of hitting an RPG strongly depends on the type of ammunition, wind, direction of fire, target movement, temperature, etc. They will eliminate all this with optics ???
        3. left one handle - in vain !!! it’s easier to hold such a fool on your shoulder with two hands and the accuracy is higher.
        4. The bar rests on the shoulder - it is very convenient to hold a fool on your shoulder with a weight of about 10 kg (with a shot) on such a corrugated surface ..
The product seems to me too crude and not finalized, but for the price they screwed a bunch of stray on it

shot in the army, 10 times from an RPG (never hit wink , well, I’m not a grenade launcher), so I think that getting to 800 meters will be a great success, with complete calm and a standing target. for there, in aiming, even the air temperature plays a role.
