During 2010, the NATO 711 fighters died in Afghanistan, and 2011 - in 565. This is the most significant reduction in mortality compared with the previous year in ten years of war. NATO troops were crucial in the war, and this fact is increasingly worrying Afghans, as the United States and other countries are accelerating the planned withdrawal of troops. This year, 23000 American soldiers must leave the country, and a full withdrawal is planned for 2014 year. So far, the main efforts of the US military are focused on training the Afghan army and solving the problem of returning military equipment to their homeland with a total value of 30 billions of dollars.
We offer you a selection of photographs illustrating the events in Afghanistan over the past month.
