New domestic air defense systems presented in Iran

The new Bavar 373 (Symbol of Faith-373) domestic production was officially presented in Tehran, it reports RIA News message agency Mehr.




The presentation took place in the building of the Organization of Aerospace Industry of the Ministry of Defense of Iran in the presence of the President and the Minister of Defense.

“The complex is equipped with a radar station with a phased antenna array, similar to the Russian all-high-altitude detector 96L6. The air defense system monitors aerodynamic targets and ballistic missiles at medium and long distances, ”the publication says.

The development of its own air defense system, "not inferior in its capabilities to the Russian C-300 complex," the Iranian military announced in February 2010.

This year, as is known, Russian C-300 air defense systems began to arrive in Iran. On Saturday, the republic’s defense minister, Hossein Dehgan, said that the bulk of the contractual weapons had already been received. According to him, the contract must be fully completed within a month.
