The fourth modernized long-range radar detection aircraft A-50-U should be handed over to the military until the end of the 2016 g, reports RIA News message of the press service of the United Instrument-Making Corporation.

Defense Ministry will receive the fourth upgraded DRLO aircraft until the end of the year

Modernization A-50 engaged concern "Vega" (included in the defense industry).

“By the end of the year, the United Instrument-Making Corporation plans to transfer the modernized aviation complex for long-range radar detection and control A50-U. Within a few years, three planes were handed over to the customer, the fourth - in a high degree of readiness, we plan to deliver it this year. These are modern complexes with digital equipment ”,
says release.

The company clarified that, compared to its predecessor, the upgraded version has increased flight range.

"In addition, A50-U has enhanced capabilities for detecting and tracking air, ground and surface objects," the report says.

Reference of the enterprise: “Complex A50-U is a full-fledged air command center. Its purpose is the detection and tracking of ground, air and sea targets, warning of air and surface situations, aviation control during combat operations. The aircraft’s radio engineering complex is capable of simultaneously tracking hundreds of targets within a radius of up to several hundred kilometers. ”

We are expanding the operations of the aerospace forces abroad - AWACS aircraft are very necessary. Good news.

Well done, the employees of the Vega concern, they can do everything: from the UAV "Corsair" to the A-50, and this is probably not all!

The A-50-U is certainly undeniably good ... but I would be much more happy if the A-100 began to enter the troops.

But this is a bit from another opera.

A-235 is a missile defense system, and A-100 is an AWACS plane. So A-100 is from the "same opera" as A-50.
And given the difficult situation with the A-100 AWACS, the truly long-awaited aircraft.

With AWACS planes we have a complete, excuse the "ambush" ... therefore, in the light of the emerging relations with NATO, the A-100 would, oh, in good numbers, help our Aerospace Forces, and the army as a whole, increasing its effectiveness several times.

I just put it mildly wink After mastering the Su-35 and Su-30 series, the main efforts of the Air Force, IMHO, should be directed specifically to AWACS, reconnaissance and specialized electronic warfare aircraft (in addition to fine-tuning the T-50, of course). Here we have a bottleneck.

Absolutely. But I would add that such aircraft will be of considerable benefit not only to the aerospace forces, but also to the Navy, as well as one of the components of our air defense and missile defense.

Here, we’m sorry, not a bottleneck, but we are sitting in a deep and dark place. Especially looking at the ratio of the number of NATO Avax with our A-50.
At the same time, AWACS are an obligatory attribute of the doctrine of network-centric warfare, which is said a lot by both the Western military and ours.

Often it is better not to say anything than to soak out frank delirium and be reputed to be a populist. Need a man at the level of Shoigu or Marshal Dmitry Ustinov. Neither one made unrealistic promises.

In particular, the crews of the DLRO A-50U aircraft took an active part in providing the latest major military exercises. The technical characteristics of the A-50U aircraft are currently kept secret, but the pilots say that the detection range of the new aircraft with a modernized radio complex was increased . The new aircraft is able to accompany hundreds of air targets, pointing dozens of fighter jets on them. At the same time, it can work completely offline. That is, teams can come aboard a fighter automatically, and not be broadcast by an officer of the combat command. A unique plane!

When the aircraft carrier is laid down, then it is necessary to begin the development of a carrier-based "flying radar". The construction of the lead aircraft carrier will take exactly ten years, so the time for the development of the aircraft will be quite enough.

For the deck you need a full-fledged aircraft carrier. But to make a car like the American Hawaiian, but land-based - it would not be superfluous to have a car. It is not always necessary to drive the A-50. Even if the detection range would have been less, a larger number of vehicles would have "closed" problem areas

Then it’s better to immediately make a deck. The requirements for maritime aviation are much tougher than for ground due to a rather aggressive marine environment, constant rolling and large overloads during acceleration by a catapult and braking by a cable.

And we always have a condition "not to fat"... The number of A-50 in the "U" version and without is less than 20. It is not yet necessary to expect that it will go massively and quickly into the A-100 series. And our segment of small AWACS aircraft is simply a failure. The Yak-44 was not made, the AN-71 remained in the Ukraine. So in the event of a conflict of the type 080808, it is necessary to drive an AWACS aircraft almost half the country. Although it would be much easier to have several Hawkeye aircraft in the districts. Well it is, dreams

It is necessary to complete work on the A-100 Premier as soon as possible. It will be the most advanced AWACS aircraft in the world at the time of its introduction into service. It is necessary to have about fifty such aircraft to close the gaps in the north of the country. The flying radar perfectly sees enemy CDs and bombers at low altitude and directs fighters at them.

Why not 100 or 150? I understand that as always: more, more, but you have to be realistic. Now there are about 20 AWACS aircraft in total. There were about the same number in the Soviet Union. For the same Americans, the number of AWACS aircraft built in 15 years is 68 units. And you want us to have half a hundred. How many decades? so the "gaps" are unlikely to be closed with the A-100 in the near future.
