International army games ended in victory for Russia
The victory of Russia in all major competitions ended the International Army Games. Today, on Saturday, 13 August, the final competitions "ARMI-2016" were held at the Alabino training ground and the winners were awarded.
Our country became the initiator of the first stories international military games, comparable to the intensity of passions and entertainment from the Olympics. They can also be called a knightly tournament of the XXI century.

For the first time such competitions initiated by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu were held in 2013. In addition to Russia, teams from Armenia, Belarus and Kazakhstan participated in them. The idea itself turned out to be so surprising and attractive that three years later the 2016 team from 121 states with a total number of more than 19 thousands of people participated in “ARMI-3,5”, as the games are now called. Compared to last year, the number of teams increased 2,5 times, and the number of participants in the Games - 2,2 times.
In the most spectacular battle - Tank Biathlon, 17 teams from 15 countries came together. Even distant Zimbabwe sent their tank crews. They did not show outstanding results, which is not surprising. Interestingly, the tank crews of a number of NATO countries also expressed a desire to take part in competitions. But for various reasons refused. Quite possibly, they simply did not want to lose, if not Zimbabwe, then Angola, especially to China, India and Russia.
Anyway, those tank The competitions held this spring in Germany did not show any outstanding results for NATO tankers. The United States did not even enter the top three of NATO leaders, losing to Poland. By the way, the Poles went around the American Abrams on their version of the T-72.
On the "Tank Biathlon" the Chinese performed on their cars. They were much more powerful engines than the T-72B3. And, according to experts, the best sighting and computing systems. It was expected that the tankers from the Middle Kingdom immediately take the lead. The tank really flew like a bird, but there were many unacceptable when shooting misses. Moreover, at the final races the crew of the Russian T-72B3 easily avoided the Chinese car, which in general was surprising. Perhaps it was the fatigue of tankers from the Celestial Empire.
The first final competition in "Alabino" was the competition of motorized infantry and marines on the BMP-2. The Chinese here again performed in their car. It was a significantly upgraded BMP-2 with the original combat module. The Chinese then took the lead, then they fell behind, and the firing from them did not always get along. In the most persistent struggle, the crews of the Russian army nevertheless became the first. In second place are the crews of the People’s Liberation Army of China, in third place are the crews from Kazakhstan.

Sea competitions were held in the waters of the Baltic, Black and Caspian Seas.
Russia (all 23 competitions), Kazakhstan and China (21 competition), Venezuela (9), Belarus (8) and Iran (7) had the largest representation in the games.
Prizes in the competitions are as follows.
"Sniper line": Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus.
"Clear sky" (among the calculations of anti-aircraft artillery and anti-aircraft missile units): Russia, China, Belarus.

More than 2016 units of weapons and military equipment, including 700 aircraft and 56 surface ships, were involved in the ARMI-5 competitions. Of these, 95 units of foreign vehicles, including 18 aircraft and 3 surface ships.
Over 15 thousand tons of fuel and lubricants consumed, over 150 000 units of ammunition spent.
Since the opening, 2016 video cameras have been used to ensure objective control at the "Armi-72" competitions.
Over the course of the Games, about half a million spectators attended the contests.
During the period of the games, more than 1 000 media representatives from 20 countries, including 51 of foreign media, were organized at the competition venues.
More than 70 thousands of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Russia consisting of more than 12 thousands of crews, crews and teams (including 3 thousands of tank crews and more 150 - flight crews) were involved in combat training activities related to the Games.
