Media: The Ministry of Defense declassified some information about the heavy robotic complex "Pass-1"

26
The Russian Defense Ministry has declassified the newest robotic demining complex "Pass-1", reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“The machine for creating passages in minefields was created by Uralvagonzavod on the basis of the BMR-3М Vepr armored vehicle. If it had a rutting trawl, then the remote-controlled complex was equipped with a new TMT-C trawl, making a continuous passage, and a device for destroying anti-aircraft mines. The trawl is also equipped with equipment for jamming radio-controlled land mines, ”the article says.

Chassis used as a base for the new complex tank T-90.

“Pass-1” is controlled remotely from a specially equipped command post, located in KamAZ. The connection between the operator and the demining machine is protected by an EW system.

The machine is also capable of operating in automatic mode, following a given route.

The complex makes passages in the minefields with a width of 4,5 m, "neutralizing contact and magnetic mines, ammunition, equipped with radio fuses, on the surface, in snow and soil."

The successful completion of state tests of the complex was reported in mid-July.

I believe that the weak point in the system is KamAZ. One successful hit of an enemy shell and demining ends

The question is, at what distance is the control ...

I wonder how many such machines are needed for the army, for example, for one brigade?

If a small class of robots works on average 400-500m, then a kamaz-based box (and not a hand-held console) should hit a couple of kilometers.

It would be nice to have a company, 10 cars, but I think that until they are given to the brigade.

Very necessary and sought-after equipment, it is a pity that single copies. Let's hope at least for small serial lots, there is a platform, the filling is the same, there remains the desire and financial capabilities of the state. Than give Chubais and Co. money, it’s better to spend it on defense.

Why, unlike foreign cars, is there no protection for the upper part of the tracks from fragments, as well as on other Russian armored vehicles?

The caterpillar has these fragments that the elephant has shot. The mounted false collection is not intended against fragments, but here it simply was not hung.

Good news, gives confidence for the future, now without sabotage you need to put the necessary number in the troops, and even with a margin.

Well, they would call it "Vepr-M" or something like that, otherwise the name "Pass" evokes associations ... smile

"Vepr" is a Combat Machine for Mine Clearance and it is only a part of the entire robotic complex, which is called the "Pass"

Good unit. Especially the opportunity to ride in automatic mode. In Afghanistan, they needed these.

Cool stuff! It is very pleasing that the control is remote and secure. Finally, we started thinking about saving human resources. The machine is a piece of iron, it is also a pity for her, but it can be repaired, put on the app. parts or melted into metal, but with a person so far it does not roll.

An interesting picture is emerging: we are seriously investing in robotic (in the full sense of the word) military equipment! fellow And to the ground! While engineering and transport, and after a few years and see the battle!

Do not forget that the enemy has electronic warfare systems. So the remote control can be cut off quickly.
