The head of the national intelligence of Turkey arrives in Russia to discuss the Syrian issue
According to Chavushoglu, earlier (until the autumn of 2015), Russia and Turkey had “separate contacts on Syria”, and now “it was decided to create a system in which specialists will work in several areas at once, including the sphere of intelligence activity”.
The same Chavushoglu told that today the head of the national intelligence of Turkey (MIT) Hakan Fidan, as well as several generals of the Turkish armed forces are arriving in Russia.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, at the moment, “various approaches to Syria” remain. In particular, Cavusoglu noted that Ankara considers unacceptable the continuation of the siege of Aleppo.
Recall that in the besieged Aleppo a large group of militants was locked up, to which a powerful reinforcement was trying to break through with all the forces from the south-west. Attempts to break through are accompanied by artillery fire and the use of armored vehicles.
It turns out that Ankara opposes the liquidation of the many thousands of militant groups in Aleppo, which testifies to the obvious links of Turkey with this grouping.
At the same time, Chavushoglu said that if the siege ends, Turkey will present a version of a political settlement in Syria, worked out together with Russia. What will this option be? - while an open question. For the time being, the fact that the usual statements in the style of “Assad should leave” from the mouth of the Turkish minister did not come to mind ...
