Muslims of France organized a collection of donations to the family of the deceased Catholic priest

The Regional Union of Muslims of France decided to demonstrate that Islam and Islamist radicalism have nothing to do with each other. The decision on this kind of demonstration was made against the background of an increasing number of accusations of Muslims living in France, that they "support the terrorist underground and are themselves a medium for spreading radical ideas."
Not wanting to be equated between Muslims and terrorists, the Muslim community of Rouen, led by Bashar al-Sayadi, began collecting donations to the family of the abbot of Saint-Étienne-de-Ruevre church in Saint-Etienne-de-Ruevre, Jacques Amel. This is reported on page Facebook communities.
The submission states that the Muslim community of Rouen invites representatives of all faiths to collect donations, which should show the solidarity of believers in face of the common threat of terrorism. The appeal is directed not only to Muslims, Christians and Jews, but also to atheists.
Recall that the radicals seized hostages (a priest and church members) in France on July 26. Under the shouts of "Allah Akbar" they cut Jacques Amel's throat. A few days later, a radical was injured by another French priest, who asked him to give him the opportunity to take a shower in the house of a priest.
These terrorist actions caused a great resonance in France. At the same time, the French authorities actually recognized that they did not have the leverage to protect the same Christian priests from the rampant extremism.
