Ukrainian media reported that the Court of Appeal of the Ivano-Frankivsk region issued an acquittal verdict against the Ukrainian journalist Ruslan Kotsaby. Recall that Kotsaba was detained after the YouTube published a video calling for the citizens of Ukraine to ignore the demands of mobilization campaigns.
The same movie:
Based on the video posted by the journalist on the Web, a criminal case was initiated against Kotsaba under the article on “obstructing the activities of the Ukrainian armed forces”. The defense provided materials that stated that the mobilization campaign was not within the competence of the country's armed forces. Moreover, none of the witnesses invited to the courtroom stated that Kotsaba’s video had somehow influenced him, and he refused to perform military service.
In the final part of the trial, the judge gave the floor to the journalist himself. Kotsaba once again expressed the words that he does not consider it necessary to respond to the mobilization demands, as there is a fratricidal war in the Donbas. According to Ruslan Kotsaba, on this basis it is impossible to say that his words, voiced through the Network, are any obstacle to the implementation of the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Reports about it UNIAN.
After the verdict was passed, the judge Ruslan Kotsaba was released right in the courtroom, which caused outrage among the Ukrainian radicals.
