LAS is preparing to withdraw its observers from Syria
"Even with the presence of observers in Syria, violence continues in the country," said Ali al-Salem al-Dekbas, head of the council. - "Working in the country of observers gives the regime of President Al-Assad a legal cover for the international community."
According to Interfax, this is why the council calls on al-Arabi to convene an urgent meeting of the League and decide to withdraw the observers.
The work of the League’s observers in Syria causes extreme dissatisfaction among Western countries and oppositionists, since after visiting Homs they did not reveal serious violations by the country's authorities, and, in addition, observers declared the presence of armed opposition groups in the city.
Earlier, the international human rights organization Amnesty International criticized the Sudanese general Mustafa ad-Dhabi, head of the delegation, for allegedly violating the rights of his own people in Sudan and not worthy of leading such a mission. In response, the Arab League announced that it trusts al-Dhabi completely.
