Do you want all around were patriots? Go to the children!

48
Not so long ago, somewhere on the eve of May 9, I read a purely “female article” on IN about the upbringing of patriotism among modern children. They say that it is lame, and therefore it is necessary to organize more relevant events, create museums of the Great Patriotic War in schools, invite veterans, etc. etc. Everything seems to be correct, but for some reason one of the readers in the comments immediately wrote that he did not like the word "events", "rulers", "fees", which ... smelled of him the old pioneering past in the worst sense of the word. And - yes, it is quite possible to agree with this.

Do you want all around were patriots? Go to the children!

This is how modeling helped the British during the Second World War to train their pilots. But who said that today it is impossible to organize such races of “cyclo pilots” at school? This is interesting, reckless, does not require a lot of work, and children will certainly develop.

I remember my school past. International Women's Day 8 March. Our teacher (it is the teacher, because I did not feel any respect for this fat fool neither then nor now), until complete utter stupefaction, “litmontazh” rehearses with us - poems with songs alternately from the stage. “Mom is an expensive word! The word is warm and light! On the glorious day of March 8, our mothers say hello to us! ”(Last words in chorus!). One boy took care of himself, could not restrain himself. Oh, how I hated it all! And I'm not the only one - the whole class.

Then, when they began to celebrate Victory Day, it didn’t get any better: now my classmates and I have become spectators. And again this same teacher brought another party of babies to the stage and declared: “Litmontazh” - “Victory, dear word, warmth and light in the word, let's say in chorus, let's say together, our hello to veterans!” (Last words in chorus!). Then someone read poetry, someone sang - the longing was green.

Now, too, there are similar “events”, but there are at least a few of them ... let's say, they nevertheless have improved. But how will you improve the meeting with a veteran who, I am sorry, cannot connect two words? Well, yes, he has all the breasts in the orders, but ... the children "is" not interested. I happened to be at one such meeting, and then I asked the teachers - “Did this give a positive result? Did you like it? Could not check in advance, but can he even speak at all? ”You understand that these are different things - to wash the floor in the veteran’s apartment, and quite another to make him speak nicely, and his words would light the guys, but would not cause a ridicule. In Dagestan, they say: “There are no good young people, where there were no good old people!” So the “old man” who came to the children with mobile phones and tablets in their pockets should be “good” and “interesting” from their point of view. In general, I would hire professional actors for that - then such meetings would be remembered by children for life, but ... Penza is a small city, people are talkative, - they will expose.

In this issue of the magazine “Young Technician” for 1983 (No. 10), my model development from packages has even appeared on the cover. Well, in the text, of course. But the main asset of the room was, of course, a jar of Yantar cheese. In Penza, he was. In other places not everywhere. And many at that time said: “We want to live as in Penza!” However, “the music did not play long”. But homemade "from the jars" enjoyed great popularity everywhere, but especially in Penza and Kuibyshev (Samara), where I showed them on TV. And how many different packages now?

New time - new songs. And most importantly, many people say “it is necessary, it is necessary, it is necessary!” But this is like the word halva - how many times do not repeat - it will not be sweeter! So, you need to do something yourself, especially if you are young enough, and in this school your children study. On the VO website there are a lot of people with good professional skills. Well, why not go to the nearest school and ... not start there some kind of interesting modern children circle? VO wrote about interesting school museums of war, and the fact that they exist is wonderful. But you can not have such museums in every school. This is nonsense - a museum of the Great Patriotic War in every school. And then what? Then ... circles of interests that will instill patriotism in children not with outdated rulers, but in the process of communication between the senior mentor and children, and with children who respect him.

This is my first toy model for children. Prize winner (150 award in rubles!) Of the 1979 USSR Ministry of Industry and Children's Toys Competition. I made her as a teacher in a village school, where I also led a children's technical group. For those who believe that then "everything was," I will say - "there was not ... nothing in that school." Planers, hammers ... and everything! And the time was - the last quarter of the twentieth century. In Japan, launched the first factory robot!

I know one engineer who opened a circle in our Penza ... "jet propulsion". Children make rockets and cars from 1,5-liter bottles of mineral water and kvass and launch them, competing for distance and altitude.

Here, somehow, there was already an article about a home-made “pneumostart”. It was made back in 1986 year and worked great! Then there was no pressure boost coupling in it, and a paper ball wrapped in rubber from a balloon was inserted into the tube. Friction rubber was great. Therefore, only high pressure "blown" the ball out of the tube and, accordingly, the model of the aircraft!

And so with the help of pneumo-start the model was launched! Incidentally, I made one such installation - here's a circle for you!

Work at least, which is important, because children are lazy (and this is normal, by the way), and all work with a positive result should be completed in 40 minutes. But what effect? Rockets take off in a cloud of water vapor - wooo! Cars rush ... in short, everything is very competitive and interesting for children. That is, as it should.

Well, the race "vibrohod of soap box" were popular at the time, and will be quite popular today. The problem is microelectric motors. Then they were full. Now in the free market, I do not see them.

I have my own experience too. When my daughter went to school, and it was still Soviet time, I went there, and led a technical circle there all the time while she was in elementary school. I went to school granddaughter - it all happened again. And not because of altruism, although I conducted the circle there for free, but by calculation, “I am fine with you, you are with us!” But ... in each class, how many dads, moms, grandparents, eh? And imagine that at least half of this amount would go to schools "by calculation" - what would happen then? Well, probably, it would be, that's just really not. Of course, there is a reason for everything. People are busy. But the main reason is laziness, and the belief that someone will come and do everything for you.

All-terrain vehicle from the soap dish on the square wheels. By the way, the finished theme for the circle: "Martian ATVs." The case of the cardboard box, the "wheels" of the smaller boxes. Paste all the wheels with grouser made of cartons for eggs and paint with paint “under aluminum” (“fools love everything brilliant!”) And… everything! You can show on TV, you can show the deputy ... School and you bonuses!

And now, for four years, both I and my daughter took turns teaching and working there, and circle classes, and ... it was really interesting for the children. And what about their teacher? “They didn’t teach me this!” She said, and correctly, not everyone can be re-educated quickly, and not everyone can do what other people have been doing for a long time and successfully. But at least it was good that she didn’t bother us! And many parents also helped the class. One mom, for example, completely took over the musical accompaniment of all the class activities, one dad struck the shafts of spears I needed, and the rest unified the linoleum and painted something, while others were preparing sports games. That is where it was just all good. However, is it everywhere? That is, they usually paint everything. But to work out with the kids, it is still not the norm.

I have already told here about the success with which a theatrical performance for veterans of the Second World War was held, in which the guys sang a song about Marusya from the film “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Profession”. It was bright, colorful, unusual and enjoyed by both adults and ... children! What other numbers have been prepared and will be implemented? But what - by the way, I give the idea, but to bring it to life is not so difficult. Also “dramatized song act”. Three boys and three girls in military uniform sing a song from the movie “Heavenly Slow Mover” - “Well, girls, and girls later!” At the same time, a pilot girl wearing a “suit” ... of the aircraft ON-2 - “flies” to the scene biplane dark green (180 p. paint-aerosol), made from packaging cardboard and boxes. The basis of the case - a box without a bottom with handles inside. Wings, a tail dock to it, and the screw with a drive from a motor is installed in front. And all - flew!

It’s not enough for you to have one airplane with two wings - make ... a four-engined bomber (“kill” all of this with a total outlook!), And three children to “fly”, and only one of the four propellers would work. A radio operator is sitting in the corner of the stage, knocking on the walkie-talkie, and voice behind the stage pronounces the words from the song “Bombers”:

Was very concerned
Air our people
We did not return at night
With the bombing of the plane.

Radio operators scrubbed the air,
Catching the wave barely,
And five to four
Heard the words ...

And then the plane “comes out” on the stage, swinging the “last wing”, with a flirty beauty on the nose, all in camouflage, and flying “on an honest word and on one wing!” And the choir sings: “Buck is pierced, the tail is burning ...! »Positive effect guaranteed!

Oh, does your child go to gymnasium to learn many languages? Fine! Let it be all the same, but only let the song be sung in English.

Here it is, a brilliant "silver" plane from the boxes for children's races. It is put on the child, inside the handle, for which he holds it and ... run forward! The main thing is to make an airplane out of cardboard boxes is very simple. Need PVA glue, superglue, nitro-enamel spray can (or three cans, if the plane is in camouflage) and ... everything!

More interesting "Aviagonki". Suppose there are eight baby classes in school. From each at the start, timed to coincide with the 9 of May, two “airplanes out of the boxes” come out. With identification marks of the USSR Air Force and allies. Propellers rotate from the oncoming air flow. Some run, others get sick of them, Aviamarch sounds from a loudspeaker, the announcer briefly talks about the heroic pilots, the winners are awarded by a live war veteran, the entire class who won, then fed by a cake. What else do children need? Even in the age of mobile phones debilnikov "it's cool!"

This is a model of a hovercraft operating! She hovered above the floor and above the water and moved forward, and the screws in the back of the cans in the fairings rotated! But the motor on it was only one - lifting! And due to what did he move? And part of the air through the air ducts on the body came out and blew the screws, rotating from the air flow incident on them. “Why is the wind blowing? Because the trees are swaying! ”

Then you can call one neighboring school to the competition, then another, then make sure that in your city such races become massive. This will arouse interest in aviation in general, and to WWII aviation in particular, besides running is good for health, and working with your hands is good for the mind. Naturally, all this will need to be reported to your media and let them replicate it the way they know how. Today society does not have enough positive information - let them please it even with this!

The first Russian monitor. Also cardboard and also floating. Here you have a patriotic education - take it and make it for children and with children.

Yes, but we forgot about the museum. That the school museum should be in the spirit of the times. And why in some school (it is not necessary in all, of course) not to create a museum ... of Martian all-terrain vehicles, those that will study it in the near future. All of them can also be made from packages. The case is from a big box, and the chassis is from cans of sour cream and yogurt, plates, and containers for eggs, God knows from what else - this is just interesting. Now there are so many different plastic packages that are breathtaking.

Do you know that? A piece of caterpillar from yogurt jars! A whole class brings you jars and as a result, the guys from them make a fantastic tracked "Martian all-terrain vehicle"!

And most importantly, using them as a material allows you to make your fantastic rovers so large and impressive that it will be possible to create a museum of them into which it will not be a shame to invite serious scientists. For example, I have more than 10 such unusual packaging designs, and if you think about it, you can still think so. Each is a topic for an article in the supplement to the magazine “Young Technicians” - “Lefty”, a topic for a local newspaper and television: “At N-school, children made a fantastic rover!” And this is a great PR and advertisement for the school itself (for which you will be told only thanks), and this is at the same time cultivating a sense of pride in yourself, your school and ... your country. And besides, it is also interesting, it is new, it orients children towards the future, towards the future, and this is exactly what we need, isn’t it?

A very promising area is the school circle for making visual aids for lessons. All before my eyes! Materials - full of all sorts. And the children are interested, and the teachers are just great. Handmade things children love so far. And respect those who make them!

Photo of the pyramid of Cheops for the lesson stories in the 5 class. And not just a pyramid ...

It also opens, and then its filling is visible!

Through the efforts of the whole class it is not at all difficult to build such an ancient Greek temple. Everyone makes two columns and ... everything!

P.S. All the home-made, presented in the photographs, as you can see, were made, although some very long. Disassembled old folders and found it. Translated into a “digit”, but the quality is still “not very.” But there are new ones already in the last three years. Well, the article was specially written by the summer, so that it would be time to think before September 1, prepare the subjects of the classes, choose directions, decide on the materials ... Well, September September 1, it is possible that someone from the VO readers will take, and go to the school. So that not only in words, but also in practice, to teach children something good.

In order to grow up patriots from children --- patriots must go to them. Parents must be patriots. Well, parents cannot be remade or chosen. But teachers often go to school to solve their problems --- their child is close to home and etc ..
When I was in school, we didn’t have anything like that.
And at the same time he went to the circle: it was great there! They also radioized! There were tea parties, birthdays, conversations. Probably, they brought up patriotism there.
I liked the article, thanks Vyacheslav Olegovich.

In order to grow patriots from children, children need to offer something, what they need to prepare for, what kind of society they will build and develop in the future, and technical creativity is already an applied component of future builders, the main thing is that they prepare for peace and not for war

        To raise patriots from children
        ...

Patriotism is a natural phenomenon, and it should be supported, not educated. It is in support that the patriots of our common big Motherland need, and not in new types of "education", and not only in schools, but comprehensively. And it is not harmful to remember them in the media, let them know that they are not alone.

      Right!
To develop patriotism, circles are needed. Radio, dog breeding, cynology, rifle, air, auto ... As the saying goes, "Avtomoto-bike photo".
All this was in DOSAAF, moreover, certificates of completion of the courses were issued. The courtyards and adjoining territories were packed with eternally training athletes: radio direction finders, "fox hunting", amateur dog handlers with their various service dogs on the obstacle course and with beautiful medals at the buildings, motor sportsmen and so on.
And now in Dosaaf, at least in our region, there is nothing but driving and shooting.
What state support is not visible there

Thanks to such circles in the USSR, there were excellent engineers. And thanks to the sports sections - athletes. That is, there was a perfectly debugged system that yielded results. And the children were at work.

I studied when the former fell apart, and the textbooks were unclear what. It seems that there were no clear new directives and some teachers continued to teach as before.
And the circle was paid, there was nothing free of charge. I can't get a price, but everyone said it was expensive. And Mama wanted me to "be busy."

That's for sure. Somewhat rude, but not in the eyebrow, but in the eye. Over the past 10 years of work, I did not see half of my parents in Ukraine or in Belarus at meetings and half of my parents. But at the end of the year, a pilgrimage and a broken phone.

Vyacheslav is right: in each class parents and grandparents are at 30-40. What a bummer to come at the classroom hour, talk about your profession, about interesting cases. Or at the weekend with the children go out into the nature, at the same time and the trees themselves will see in the forest, and not on the Internet ...

One small problem is that ONLY OFFICIALLY only people with higher pedagogical education can deal with children at least!
I tried to organize a technical modeling circle (bench models of equipment, in the evenings after work). I walked around the rooms of the schoolchild, the houses of children's creativity up to the city committee for education - ONLY the HIGHER teacher education and ONLY in the staff of the educational institution!
And I like my work, it’s problematic to get a second higher education at my age (50 years old), so I’m doing half-time practice (she was sheltered by the youth library, they don’t have such strict requirements, but the conditions are not entirely suitable).

There is another mess: plans, reports and other papers. Even teachers who have eaten teeth on this red tape over decades of work, she sometimes drives into a stupor. What can we say about the person who came from the side?

The second point is permission for the type of activity. These are TB, Santaria and the rules for recruiting children. You will have 15-20 children - they will open the circle, but then they will torture you with checks of the number and working time (up to 5 minutes). Not to mention the concept of the museum. RONO approves its theme (or whatever it is now in a new way), and I'm afraid the Museum of Martian all-terrain vehicles will plunge these bureaucrats into a state of amok. Well this is not a museum of ethnography and a couple of dozen dusty rags, and not a tea party museum with a battery of samovars (this is in our boarding school). But here one could talk with a twinkle and interest, because in every moment of life there is always something interesting. The teachers themselves simply either have no time (these are those who REALLY work with children) or the drum (these are those who look at children as a stage in their life's journey and a means of solving their problems).

        We have plenty of freelancers!

It's not about staffing. In any case, the work of the circle is strictly regulated. This requirement is divided into two groups. The first is financial activity. If you work on a voluntary basis or in your club, then all the rubbish about filling groups and work schedules disappears, only relations with financial and regulatory authorities remain. The second - Tb and others. These are the requirements of the law, without which you simply will not be given permission to work with children (and if you persist, they will find the article, it’s not difficult).

For 12 years in Kiev I was engaged in the children's intellectual movement (ChGK, Brain-ring, Erudite Quartet, Own Game and the rest that we can think of), worked at the Podolsk District House of Children's Art (formerly the House of Pioneers). I was lucky: both in the "House" and in the District there were sane people (in general, a rarity), but colleagues in other cities did not always have a sweet tooth, sometimes people almost cried. So, as you can see, as long as the state at least ceases to interfere with those who, like YOU, disinterestedly and gratuitously engage in REAL work with children, with patriotism will be strained. For patriotism, IMHO, is not only a willingness to die for the Motherland, but also the confidence to always and everywhere say: "We are not doing stupid things."

Sometimes my peers and friends make jokes about me — I work with all sorts of war games with children, and in the summer I organize a mini camp with a tent on the bank of the river. We spend the night in a tent, the boars roam at night and grunt behind her canvass, frightening not only children. In the morning, charging for everyone, washing with river water, a fire and morning tea with breakfast from a standard military ration. In the afternoon we construct rockets, launch them into the sky and they return to the parachute! In the evening, I read “Headless Horseman” to them, they laugh at servant Phelim, and in a couple of minutes they are already sleeping under my monotonous description of the American prairie. I don’t know if there are elements of patriotism in these classes, but the hardening of children as future warriors certainly exists. I support the author of the publication in his classes with children. By the way, it is possible to work with children and not officially, it would be only the permission of their parents, but safety is provided. But the former military possess it.

You know, there is. When he was engaged in rocket science with high school students, they not only learned the history of astronautics themselves, they also got to the bottom of the Tsiolkovsky formula. And the casually uttered surnames of Tsander, Tikhomirov, Chelomei - this is an occasion on the Internet not to overturn empty words to each other, but to study a huge chunk of Russian history.

Alex, most likely I had an idea in class with children - not to introduce them to Tsiolkovsky, but to tear these children away from iPhones, smartphones and all kinds of electronic boards as much as possible. Games in them are stupid, and parents willingly give them their "bells and whistles" with games, in order to get rid of their annoying offspring. They have no time for children ...

Yes, summer is now! What are there robots? Children need to nature, to the fire, to mosquitoes and animals. And in inclement weather - at the table and glue military equipment from any material. Yesterday I was at work, and the children in the camp glued stabilizers to the missiles. I came to them - there was a launch. Immediately after the launch, the findings: stuck unevenly the detail to the rocket - far from flying away. And with the correct installation, it took off so much that it wasn’t found ... The engineer begins with cardboard. A rocket of beer cans ... (cheap and not at all angry).

If the question is for me, I answer this way: everything works in the air. Car compressor from the side of the car or from 220 V., an old hydrophore for disassembly, a sewer pipe, a valve, three beer cans and plastic for stabilizers. A parachute from the silk of the grandmother's skirt. That's the whole trick. It will be interesting - I will throw off the video, I don’t know yet what format and file weight is needed. In the photo - "protection" from a neighbor in the country:

Well yes. You are our optimist. Daughter at school. A classmate takes apart the phones, the whole school knows him. The rest are only users who have no idea that there is a binary system, percent, kernel, and for many graduates, even a simple block diagram and logic "and" "or" causes a fatal error))
When you explain that there is a cache and everything in the folders lies on the system drive, and not on the desktop, such a surprise, what do you say? still in the My Docs folder))
or killing / temporarily moving individual files to Program Files you won’t start the program. They don’t even know about the file system and don’t want to know.
Explaining that the necessary maps for the navigator can simply be copied to the correct folder and after a reboot they will be reflected. And the file extension is simply outrageous.

Eugene, I absolutely agree with you. I also did not set such a goal, it was they themselves then used their computers, iPhones, boards and tablets for business. Pythagoras said that the student is not a vessel that needs to be filled, but a torch that needs to be lit. You, apparently, succeeded, I want to believe, too. Although, of course, it’s sad to look at the general stupidity of youth ...

Our teacher (just a teacher, because I didn’t have any respect for this fat fool either then or now) rehearses “litmontazh” with us, completely poetic - verses with songs interspersed from the stage. “Mom is an expensive word! The word is warm and light! On a glorious day, the eighth of March, our hello to our mothers! ”(Last words in unison!). One boy described himself, could not resist

This is not a reason to hate "litmontage": in the process of such activities, children STUDYING: speaking to the public, reciting, not being afraid of others, believing in oneself and one’s strength, develop, in the end.
How much joy and PRIDE for children who successfully performed somewhere on a matinee, anyone will remember.

well, yes, I somehow did not think about it. I just wrote what I felt then. Joy and pride ... I don’t remember something, although I usually remember good things from my youth. I remember regretting the lost time. I remember that many events differed little from the celebration of the namesake of the sovereign-emperor, described by Leo Kassil in "Conduit and Schwambrania". I remember how it struck me even then. It all depends on the measure - five tablespoons of sugar in a cup of tea is clearly too much, albeit nutritious.

Alexander, Vyacheslav, you are both right and a little wrong at the same time. Indeed, it is possible and necessary to teach children to keep themselves on stage (everyone who spoke on it knows that it is far from easy), and to develop the art of recitation and memory, and speak in unison, and not like on current talk shows. But this must be done with skill and patience. Children are a peculiar audience, it is very delicate to dose out kindness and severity, and perseverance and some freedom, and exactingness and the ability to stop in time. And in any case, one must know the measure, without turning study into a drill. I do not know why that teacher thus achieved the set result. Maybe she’s tired of life, or maybe she just couldn’t. But you must admit, a wetted child is somehow already too much and does not at all speak about pedagogical talent.

That's right, that's right. And not only patriotic education on the military theme should be. In general, in any field of activity, it would be good to keep children busy; this is also patriotism - to train enthusiastic people. In science, in art, in technology. Which school bosses might want this headache for themselves? Which parent will understand this? And if adults do not understand, children will not want to do this and will not be able to. Personally, when my eldest went to the 2nd grade, I tried to do a theater class. The teacher agreed. I came to the class and talked to the children. I agreed that tomorrow those who wish will come to the assembly hall. 8 girls and three boys came. We started to rehearse. After two rehearsals, the guys suddenly stopped in the middle of the stage. "But we don't understand why we need this?" You are not interested? - I ask. Interestingly, they say, but ... One explained that he had poor eyesight, he could not read a lot. Well, yes, to learn 20 lines of text is a terrible burden on the eyes! Another said that he was not going to be an artist. The third - that he does not have enough time for lessons (2nd grade!). I perfectly understand that these are the words of their parents. They themselves came, no one forced them! And none of the parents came up to me, did not ask what kind of play, maybe, help with something, support. Everything was very rational - if some activity does not bring obvious benefits, this activity must be stopped. And no one in the class was engaged in any "hobby". A couple of people attended the sports section and the same number of music schools. All. Right now, one of my retired neighbors is studying ... I don't know how to do it right ... He makes model airplanes and participates in competitions. If he wants to come to school with the children to study, I strongly doubt that he will be allowed, and that the parents will let the children go.

I do not know, but in my city no one has ever forbidden me to do anything with children, and there were no problems with this. On the contrary, everyone is in favor. If you want to lead a journalism circle - lead, if you want something else - please! Yes, children began to demand "giving back." But ... it's a tribute to the times. You just need to think about how to present all this. It's probably too late to stage Fonvizin. And here is something modern. However, there are so many cases that you won't give all the advice. You have to walk, propose, create, that is, do something. I picked the berries from the dacha - brought them by the teacher and gave them. A trifle, but nice! Or children in school camp ...

We are not talking about berries, but about classes with children. So formally, no one forbade it. The main obstacle is why it is needed! If parents do not understand, then how to explain to children. Fonvizin, by the way, can also be put in such a way that everyone will be interested. Yes, and with the second graders, I wanted to stage a very interesting play. It would be interesting for adults too. This is a fairytale. But not squirrel bunnies. Play by Lev Uspensky. Take an interest. "A barrel of honey".

I made ship models with second class, but ... never became a sailor. Last year, I went to an art studio once a week early in the morning. In the evening, teachers and kids built houses out of boxes that they themselves made, nails were hammered, something was made of metal mesh from wood. Once I saw it: screech, delight. They are from 1 to 3, and the teachers are beautiful, young girls !!!!!!. The architecture is called.

The education of patriotism is a rather complicated and multi-level business, in which, for the good, mass culture (comics, video games, rock music, etc.) must be actively involved. The Swedish band Sabaton has amazing songs about the Battle of Kursk and the capture of Berlin. And our performers have nothing similar.

Sure! Moreover, it should not be visible! When you are "actively brought up" - be a patriot, be a patriot, young people reject it. Success is in an integrated approach. In kindergarten toys "Kremlin" and "T-34" ... at school a circle of BTT modeling from packaging, races of cardboard airplanes, a circle of young rocket scientists, "folk songs" ... video games, movies, books - one bought - one at gift ... Just like that!
