The updated science hatred
It is well known that from love to hate one step. Something similar happened in our relations with the Western world, and now we are in dialogue with the finger on the trigger. Not the Cuban missile crisis, of course, but for a long time we were not so close to the high-intensity armed conflict - that is, to a major war, as it is now ...
Everything was relatively good, while Russia, having forgotten about national interests, obediently carried out recommendations from Washington: it disarmed, wrecked its economy and re-politicized under European standards for underdeveloped state entities. During this period, our souls didn’t like us, and the leaders were regularly invited to the club meetings of the elect under the multi-speaking G index. For example, G8 (Great Eight) in one of the options can be translated as the “Big Eight,” but in fact Russia was kept in this pretentious structure exclusively in a waiting room, but under supervision, in order to degrade in front of his eyes, and large ) after the collapse of the USSR, no one considered Russia, of course.
But it cost Moscow only a little to show independence and deviate somewhat from the recommended course, love, if we mean by this term civilized and responsible interstate relations, almost instantly passed. However, there was never any love at all: the leaders for the cameras exchanged on-duty smiles, and Hollywood, for internal use, where there was no need to be cunning, was still portraying the Russians as caricature bastards. And if you analyze the products of this propaganda dream factory from the first day of the Cold War to today, you will hardly find at least one decent screen image of our compatriot - only murderers, sadists, drug dealers, stupid generals, evil colonels of special services and, of course, prostitutes. How to understand the mysterious Russian soul without them ... But who would like that?
Gas station with rockets
It is not surprising that interest in the West, which received an impulse in Russia after the fall of the Iron Curtain, was eventually replaced by a certain disgust. No, we did not descend in this peculiar dialogue of cultures to the language of “Kukryniks” during the Second World War - we do not think about the West as a whole and about America in particular through rock art, and this means that the Unified State Exam has not completely dissolved the brain of the nation, that the surrounding the world in our view is still voluminous, not a plane that we are able to understand: not every American is homosexual, like, for example, US Secretary of the Army General Eric Fanning, and not every Russophobe, like Arizona Senator John McCain.
Here's the proof. Despite the Herculean efforts of the American propaganda, on the basis of an opinion poll conducted by Gallup in February 15% of all US citizens consider Russia the main enemy of America. It is second only to North Korea, which leads the list of the national American horror.
The question is why? Why are Americans more afraid of exalted Kim Jong-un, although this is not North Korean, and Russian missiles are guaranteed to reach the United States, and in large numbers? Somehow I can not believe that we managed to propagandize most of America on our own. Perhaps Russia Today (RT), which broadcasts to foreign audiences, does work well and is not for nothing called the Kremlin’s mouthpiece, but compared to informational and financial capabilities, for example, only CNN is an arithmetical error, and against the background of all American RT media empire is completely invisible. So, the relatively peaceful attitude towards us of ordinary Americans is not so much the merit of our Kremlin agitprop, as the shortcomings of the State Department and its propaganda resource, absolute confidence in which, it seems, even at home is no longer observed.
The American propaganda machine really found itself in a difficult situation, which political extrovert Barack Obama only aggravated. He promised to end the wars that his predecessor began, instead he started new ones. He promised a reboot of relations with Moscow, and as a result he brought the confrontation of two nuclear powers to a pre-war state. And I did a lot of other things to make everyone come to the conclusion: after 44, the American president in the world stories There will be not the brightest spot.
However, in American history, too. A stunning result was given by a survey conducted on Facebook by TV presenter Sean Hanniti. The question was simple: do you think President Obama is weaker than President Putin? 98 – 99% of participants answered in the affirmative. And this is in the United States, where, as the respondents themselves emphasized, never in the entire history did a foreign leader outpace American popularity!
Republican Donald Trump, of course, could not help but use this curious circumstance for ambitious America in the campaign for the presidency. If elected, he is not going to fight with Russia (or to tear its economy apart), but to seek a common language, to establish relations. It is difficult to say how it will be in reality, but it is already clear: even the United States has finally become critical of the arguments of the Russophobes. And the number of such “dissidents” is large enough to take their point of view in the struggle for the electorate.
But for the Russians the United States is again the enemy number 1. A week ago, the Levada Center conducted a survey and found that 72% of our fellow citizens are extremely hostile to the United States. The second place is behind Ukraine, the third in the order of transferring is an unfriendly country Turkey. And it is natural. Now, even if Recep Tayyip Erdogan would apologize for being shot down on the sly of Su-24, the train left anyway - the relations between the countries and between the peoples are spoiled for a long time.
But with the US Open armed conflict we have not had, from then on our part, there is a glow of hatred? Why is our country, which has recently been thrown open to the world, turned again into one ideological camp? Why, if you believe the statistics, international tension over worries the Russians more than the decline in living standards?
Such an effect can occur only in the case of a massive reformatting of consciousness. And it is unlikely that only Dmitry Kiselev with his “News of the Week”, which broadcasts on the second button ... It was not without a powerful additional resource. It remains to be assumed: in some inexplicable way, the Kremlin is being promoted by its ideological adversary — the Western propaganda machine.
And there is nothing surprising! The Soviet myth that somewhere over the ocean there is an amazing country where wealth reigns, justice and truth, could not stand the test of time. Especially on the truth. The Russian philistine may not be as well-read as homo sovieticus was, but he already realized that he, like Dakota's subjugators of naive Indians, was cynically bred first with NATO’s advance to the east, then sequentially with Yugoslavia and the American anti-missile defense system, supposedly created against Iran ... And it becomes quite funny when in the West they claim that it is Russia in August 2008, suddenly attacked defenseless Georgia and is now waiting for the right moment to pounce on the Baltic states too ...
Here, as in shuttle diplomacy, two options are possible: either your opponent does not have an elementary conscience (in politics such a phenomenon is not uncommon), or you are considered a complete idiot. After all, we know well how it was with Georgia in fact, and that to the Baltic, even as to a long sandy beach, Russia has no interest today. But since the Western propaganda specialists in the dialogue with the “quilted jackets” do not bother themselves with particular ingenuity, it is not surprising that its influence on the Russian audience either diminishes or causes a backlash - up to hostility, which only increases when Russia is called Upper Volta with rockets , then a gas station, which considers itself a country.
FEDERAL ARMED FORCES ready to jump
In fact, the history of our relations with Europe is much larger than the own history of the United States of America. But if Moscow doesn’t always succeed in dictating its conditions to Moscow (especially in recent years), then the capital of the Old World, still considered one of the cradles of world civilization, literally lies side-by-side on its shoulder blades and, it seems, on command from overseas ready even for hara-kiri - economic, political, and maybe even military ...
And here is the latest story on this topic. As the Welt reported, for the first time since 2006, the German authorities decided to correct and supplement the so-called White Paper - a kind of national security policy guide. In general, after 70 years after the end of the Second World War, the Germans again see Russia as a rival - they consider the same threat to themselves as international terrorism and radical nationalism.
And although the scientific director of the German-Russian Forum, German international journalist Alexander Rahr argues: The White Paper is not yet a doctrine and not a government course, it’s just a platform for elite’s intellectual exercises, and Drang nach Osten is not even thinking about it should be, still in my heart somehow restless.
It is one thing when Lithuania produces you as a military rival, all of which can fit in one restaurant at a time. Another thing is the Bundeswehr, for whom the ability to fight - a genetic feature and which in case of war turns from 200-thousandth to half a million army. In addition, at the disposal of the Germans, in addition to their own, there are also American military equipment and weapons, including the American nuclear arsenal, the volumes of which are not disclosed on the territory of Germany for reasons of secrecy.
It is not yet known whether the government of the FRG will accept the new edition of the White Paper and with what amendments. But since all security agencies have worked with this 80-page document compiled by the Ministry of Defense, it is clear that there are enough supporters of the new concept of national security in Germany. However, it was enough just to mention the leading and guiding role of the German military department (since 2013, the German Defense Ministry is headed by a former gynecologist with an economics education, Ursula von der Lyayen) in preparing the revised and augmented edition of the White Paper to suggest in which direction Russian-German relations. Obviously not the best.
It was Ursula von der Lyayen a year ago, on the eve of the Day of Memory and Tribulation, said in an interview with Bild that “it is better to talk with Moscow from a position of strength”. The result was quite symbolic, because, if you look closely, in the 1941 year, the USSR was accused of practically the same thing as Russia today: it threatens the established world order, turns away from the West, strengthens strategic rivalry and strengthens military activity on the external borders of the European Union (then Europe in the known degree was also united - whether a vassal, or an ally of the Third Reich), etc. Within the meaning of exactly the same claims, Hitler presented Stalin when he moved the Wehrmacht to the east; there was no accusation except of using “digital communications to influence public opinion” and accusations of informal control “over discussions in social networks” ...
Still, the Russian establishment still believes that Ursula von der Lyayen simply brought it because of the lack of clarity in military affairs and big politics - for example, Igor Morozov, a member of the international affairs committee of the Federation Council, said. In his opinion, the head of the German Foreign Ministry Frank-Walter Steinmeier, who spoke in favor of the lifting of sanctions more than once, is simply obliged to intervene, and then Angela Merkel herself, who recently allegedly marked “a trend towards improvement in relations between Russia, as a heavy artillery. and the EU.
But the fact of the matter is that Angela Merkel’s other equally fresh statements regarding Russia are no different from the position set forth in the working version of the White Paper edited by Ursula von der Lyayen. And since it has already been said that Germany can exclude Russia from partners and translate into a different quality, it does not matter what version of the White Book the Frau Chancellor and Frau Minister of War will finally agree on. It is important that Germany, although in the draft version of the yet unapproved White Paper, has nevertheless crossed some conditional line, after which 50 million died in the past — including 27 million of our fellow citizens — and all of Europe in ruins, as well as This is an epochally important circumstance that it is thanks to Moscow that Germany today is one state. If then Margaret Thatcher could not be persuaded, it is possible that today Angela Merkel would be the chancellor of only one of the German halves.
