The other day in the internet I came across an interesting statement from an old German: "Putin would come and put us in order." There are many such sentiments in Germany today.
After the war, my uncle remained in the SGV. Then he was transferred to Nakhabino at the Research Institute named after Karbysheva.

GSVG, how much these words mean ...

And we are here on a mission
    always on guard watch, abroad
soldiers of a group of troops, Soviet troops in Germany
peace of the earth we protect!

Now there is no GSVG and there is no peace for the world. So there are truthful words in the GSVG anthem-MARCH.
Member of the GSVG 76-78gg and 82-85gg.

And I, too, was in the GSVG in 1953-1957, however, a little boy. But I remember the Baltic Sea in Wismar ...

Thanks for the photo selection, I returned to a carefree childhood, my father served in Neuruppin and Burg, my memories of the GDR are the brightest, although the weather there is not very, often overcast, it rains, snow is rare and not for long. The cleanliness and well-groomed of the streets, the abundance in the shops (the parents bought pineapple for the New Year, before that I saw it only in the picture in the textbook), we boys walked around the city until 22-23 hours, parents were not worried about us, it was safe, but local ice cream is not tasty, on the water, ours is much better.

Thanks for the historical photos. When photographed, they did not think that the photographs would soon become historical, and the soldiers, standing in the same ranks, would later share this story.

Yes ... to Germany, lived in the military. then in the house which belonged to KEChI. Everyone dreamed of getting there. They went there twice. A friend was born in Dresden in 69. He himself has coffee porcelain set from Dresden and also chic Christmas-tree decorations. Damn them already more than 30 years old.
It was funny to watch in the 90s, two families just arrived and then found German roots and back to permanent residence.
Com.roths, I’ve completed the Kiev FOCU, reconnaissance. Tales told how they wanted to drive the T-80 west to the west, they say they blocked it. Was it true or not?
And only Mongolia was offered to the father. smile I did not dare, the place and apartment were a pity.

there were many such cases in SAVO, in the Kazakh SSR there were many exiled Germans, and it turned out that a young officer met a Russian girl, got married, lived and served, and then she found herself with German roots and distant relatives there, but this was possible only in large numbers after the 91st)))

Yes it was, but one was easier for Israel to leave smile Then the KEChI house belonged to the military men, families lived who were connected with the army, broke through ... 30% of the multi-apartment house exploded in three countries, multiplied by a microdistrict. And there are 22 houses there. laughing
Damn their bandyugan group could not create, quite often the tenants changed. smile

My father served there from 55 to 62 years old. EMNIP - the last place of service - the headquarters of the 8th army. Before that - in artillery units. Place of service - Weimar, Erfurt, Rudolstadt, Nora. Was only in Nora, aged about 5-6 years. The town was remembered for its greenery and some absolute cleanliness. From the hill behind the house was visible Buchenwald.
What remains of the GDR as a keepsake is utensils, figurines
Well, then his father served in the Kiev military district, in the famous Chapaev’s division, then the Leningrad Artillery Academy, two years as a military adviser in Mongolia ...

Yes, I’ve served everyone nearby. The metal teacher, when he left the army, and then he served in Germany, the brother of the cousin’s battalion commander, his father, they didn’t let the board go far as the GRU did.
Well, in the 90s, people are dispersed in their hearts, melancholy, I personally did not "oppress" anyone, on the one hand I envied that we have, full of well .. we’ll be crap, on the other hand I love the road, by the way, this is not bad dividends love brought.
This reality, I can calmly fly to Germany at least tomorrow, German wife, relatives in Germany, six-month visa.
I’ve seen what to see, where and how they live, I’ve climbed my palms, so now my brother-in-law is engaged in salaries. In the Netherlands, you can even see women behind glass laughing get closer, well, in the North Sea I bought a boat. Nothing to do there if you don’t work hard from dawn to dawn. Not hunting or fishing. They themselves are in summer or to us or the southern countries of the European Union. The wife’s younger sister sent Germany and has been living for more than 10 years in the USA and there by the way it’s a lot of interesting. But there is no lyncial hunting. smile

By the way, that at the moment I appreciate it, the German Democratic Republic is a good book already in Russian. There are the simplest plans for building a house and most importantly these are communications, water supply canal and ....
I raised not bad money on this, and the demand is still in progress.
What is not in this book ... smile
Canal can make local where groundwater is close or ...
In short, the gold that we were there ...

He remembered his youth. He served 76-78g Ravensbrück 60-regiment battery pts. On one of the photo-parade of our regiment. The division was withdrawn to the Perm region. Someone called in Fürstenberg went and Ravensbrück-they are nearby. From the regiment there was a comrade club they stole a factory there and converted the regiment’s headquarters into a gash. Many local Germans remember 77. Then the army depots in Dananwald exploded secretly, the Germans gathered shells from shells in the woods. We drove them away.

I am Vladimir Gorelov from Moscow. He served in this unit in 1970-1972 in the first division in the battery control radiotelegraph on R-118. I did not have to go to Cap Yar, but the 2nd division traveled during my service. Lost the artist along the way. Dropped out of the wagon they say from alcohol consumption, or maybe just tired. It happened. But how to shoot. 50 to 70 meters. Count it up. This is the point. The composition of the battery was different. There were practically no guys from the Donbass, and I was born and raised there. Ukrainians from central and western Ukraine were in charge of the battery for the first year, and our platoon commander Pan Kravchenko, a loser in service and an alcohol lover, indulged him. There I first learned what Moskal is. Moskal is, according to their estimates, a drunkard, an idiot, a worthless soldier. Then it all ended. Remembering the service in the GSVG, however, as an exceptional school of true military training. We were not in the barracks. The exercises are constantly at any time of the day or season. Two weeks, or even a month, in the forests of Germany. It was, but it passed. Now only memory.
