Each flight of the Swifts and Russian Knights, which celebrate their 25 anniversary today, is a dream come true, overcoming the imperfections of human nature. The inspiration and joy that planes give people that soar easily into the sky.
On the secrets of mastery of Russian aces, their new aircraft, stories air groups, present and future - in the wonderful TASS material, which I stole a little, cut and accompanied with today's photos taken at the air show in Kubinka, dedicated to the anniversary of the legendary air groups.
ALL with the commander in chief.
"Knights" and "Swifts" appeared almost simultaneously - on April 5 and May 6, 1991. The name of both groups was invented by the pilots themselves. Both are based on Kubinka as part of the Show Center. aviation Techniques named after (CPAT) I.N. Kozhedub.
The first private demonstration of the forerunner of the Strizhi aerobatic team on the MiG-29 took place as early as 1986 in Finland, where the group was invited on a friendly visit.
Swifts fly the MiG-29. These aircraft entered Kubinka in the 1983 year, before that the pilots of the aviation center were at the disposal of the MiG-21 and MiG-23. At that time, the pilots on the four "MiGs" were not called the aerobatic team, the name "diamond on the MiG-29" was used. In 1991, a new era began.
"Swifts" were formed from the best pilots based on the 234 Guards Proskurov Fighter Aviation Regiment, which the troops have always called "ostentatious." His task was not only to protect the air borders of Moscow, but also to demonstrate the capabilities of advanced aviation technology.
The current coloring of the "Swifts" Russian Aircraft Corporation "MiG" proposed in 2000 year. Thus, the outlines of giant blue birds appeared above and below the aircraft fuselage.
“Russian Knights” is the only aviation group in the world showing aerobatics on heavy Su-27 combat fighters.
Their planes, like the Swifts, are no different from the front-line machines, except for painting.
Su-27 entered service with the 1-th aviation squadron of the Aviation Display Center in May 1989.
At first, the pilots trained in pairs, triples, and then four cars in the "diamond" line. At the beginning of 1991, the aerobatic team of six aircraft was finally formed.
The first performance of “Vityazi” took place four and a half months after the band’s official birthday, 24 August 1991, at the first Polish air show in Poznan. Then the group's commander Vladimir Bazhenov spoke with the program of solo piloting.
This visit was the starting point for creating a unique image of the group. It took less than a month for the Sukhoy OKB specialists to develop a single design and coloring of all the fighters of the group.
Pass with IL-76 and released chassis.
The art of combat
Simple, complex and aerobatics, which admire millions of viewers, has its practical meaning. Each figure that the aircraft "writes" in the sky is intended to leave the enemy.
The attacker's goal is to take a favorable starting position and hit the target aircraft; the goal of the one who is catching up is to get out from under the attack, dodge the rocket, and if possible go to the "attacker" to the attacker. The pilot must feel at ease in the air, be completely confident in his plane and have perfect control of it.
Shooting of false heat targets, better known as heat traps - a sheaf of bright lights, which produce airplanes when flying in a group or alone, has a practical meaning and a spectacular pilot.
In real combat, this “salute” is necessary in order to confuse the infrared homing heads of the enemy’s missiles.
"Aerobatic training, the performance of a complex of aerobatic maneuvers, the ability to conduct a maneuverable aerial combat are the basis of training for each fighter pilot," says Sergey Osyaykin, commander of the Strizhy air group.
Take the “Barrel” figure as an example. If it is single, then this is the basic figure performed by all pilots. If the group - then it is already difficult, make it only pilots.
When the "Barrel" makes the air group, the skill manifests itself in the synchronous implementation of this figure, both started and completed, in a clear keeping of its place in the line and the position of the aircraft in space.
A single “Barrel” in a battle gives the pilot the opportunity to suddenly change his spatial position, escape from the enemy’s rocket.
Almost all figures are performed on overloads. Perhaps the most difficult to implement is the “Bell” and the passage at minimum speed (200 km / h). It is necessary to support the aircraft, do not let it fall and do not go into a tailspin.
Aerobatics in the most general form are divided into single and group, while the group are performed in different formations: "Pyramid", "Envelope", "Strela", "Column".
When performing aerobatics, all pilots look only at the leading aircraft. They hold one plane, focusing only on him.
It is the leader who creates the aerobatic drawing, is responsible for all the parameters of the figures performed, for the construction, and the task of the slaves is to maintain his place in the ranks.
When the aircraft is piloted singly, the pilot demonstrates everything the machine is capable of, shows its capabilities. When performing aerobatics the group should be the preservation of the system, synchronism, a certain construction of maneuvers.
Pilotage should be energetic, concise, concentrated, the time intervals between the various figures and reconfigurations are minimal.
This is how the picture of the aerobatics is made up, a harmonious pattern and sense of flight is born, so that the active maneuvering of the aircraft does not turn into “meltishness”, but reveals all the beauty, controllability and dangerous power of combat vehicles.
If a pilot distracts for at least half a second, it’s not a fact that at a speed of 600-700 km / h he will be able to maintain his place in the ranks. The task of the slave is to concentrate fully on the leader and carry out his own maneuvers behind him.
Naturally, with the advent of experience, the pilot already has the opportunity to distract for a split second, to look somewhere, to check some additional parameters. But still, 90% of his time in group aerobatics, he looks at the lead
The distance between the tips of the wings of the aircraft during group aerobatics is 1 meter.
One of the most recognizable symbols of the Swifts and Russian Knights is a giant rhombus consisting of four MiG-29 and five Su-27. This pilot system was named "Cuban diamond" for its clear edges, as if outlined by the line.
For the first time, the four Russian Knights, together with the six of Swifts, performed a single flight consisting of ten aircraft to mark the 65 anniversary of the Center for the display of aircraft in March 2003.
In 2004, a joint flight of aerobatic teams consisting of nine airplanes (five Su-27 and four MiG-29) was included in the rhomb with the implementation of a full range of aerobatics. This fact has become a world record in aviation history.
For several years in a row, "Swifts" and "Knights" have been flying nine over the Red Square on May 9 and have performed this way at many holidays.
And "Swifts" and "Russian Knights" fly in the updated composition (six) with 2014 year. Each new pilot must undergo serious training to get the right to fly in the air group.
“We are interested in coming to us. These should be pilots who have a qualification raid not lower than a second-class pilot, who have almost fully completed the course of combat training. In addition, personal, human qualities are important. The air group is a small family where everyone should be absolutely confident in his comrades, "- says Sergey Osyaykin.
"In addition, young pilots come to our aviation center, from which we prepare air fighters. We fly with them to air battles, and to intercept, and to combat use for various purposes. And then we look at them and try on pilotage "It all goes in parallel."
Pilots are not tired to emphasize that they fly on combat serial machines. And "Swifts" and "Knights" often sit at the controls of aircraft in other aviation units and "twist" the exact same program. This is done in cases when it is more expensive to “overtake” aircraft and the engineering group from Kubinka.
Of course, there is no global difference between planes, but “microscopic” nuances, of course, will always exist. On the same plane, the engines work a little differently, you sit in the other - both go out to power equally. And, of course, the pilot, who flew at the helm of a single machine, will tell all about the tiny differences in its management ...
Any flight is always a certain risk. The program of each performance is always thoroughly calculated taking into account the distances there and back, the time and complexity of pilotage, the amount of fuel filled, the terrain features, and the availability of alternate aerodromes.
With solo piloting, overloading can reach 9 g (units), which means that a person is under pressure nine times more than his own weight. Group aerobatics usually do not exceed overloads in 6 units. In this case, even with an overload of three units, it is already difficult to lift the arm from the knee.
Pilots are saved from overloading by special costumes that do not allow blood to be drained from the head and torso, but this does not change the essence - every fighter pilot must be absolutely healthy physically and mentally, with an excellent vestibular apparatus. The most stringent selection for health - it is in aviation, especially in the fighter.
Pilots are special people. When they are on the ground - they are pulled into the sky, when they fly far from home - they are bored and are waiting for an early meeting with loved ones.
All the pilots of aviation groups for many years went to their current skills and would not exchange it for anything else ...
Hooray! Hooray! Urrrraaaaa!
After the airshow, everyone was allowed to go to the planes.
Happy Anniversary, BEST!
