The modern station "Nebo-U" entered service with the compound of the radio engineering troops of the Western District, the press service reported Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

Radio technical connection ZVO received modern radar "Heaven-U"

“The radar is intended for detecting, measuring coordinates and tracking air targets of various categories from airplanes to cruise and guided missiles, including small hypersonic, ballistic and subtle missiles using stealth technology at a distance of 600 kilometers,”
says release.

It is noted that "the station also provides for the determination of the nationality of air objects and the direction finding of active jammers, while its work can be carried out automatically, autonomously and as part of a connection management system."

Radar entered the troops in the framework of the state defense order.

"In general, the qualitative performance of the state order for 2014-2015. allowed the complex to re-equip the air defense system of the ZVO, thereby creating a continuous radar field and ensuring one-hundred percent control of the airspace in the area of responsibility, ”the press service added.

Neither in the Soviet Union nor now is continuous coverage of the entire territory of the Russian Federation with locators impossible, and not necessary. Dangerous directions always hide behind and this is enough.
In addition to simple locators, there are many other systems for detecting, warning, tracking targets.
The "Sky" system is the same as on any air defense complex.

The radar field also has a sea of parameters. The upper boundary of the detection zone, the lower boundary of the detection zone, the probability of detecting in this field targets of a potential enemy with certain parameters (mainly effective reflecting surface). And then you need to understand that we are talking about radars constantly on alert according to the schedule, with the task of uncovering a massive raid of military hardware of a potential enemy and drawing on the map of the affected area of the S-300 and other complexes for solving this task is meaningless. S-300,400,500 are brought into combat condition on a signal from radio and other intelligence troops. By themselves, they can solve tasks, but in a limited way and with much less efficiency. If they still manage to bring the materiel with a state suitable for combat use. There is also the task of building up the radar field during a threatened period - this is "plugging the existing holes" in the radar field, increasing the probability of detecting targets with certain parameters. Work in this direction is endless. And these victorious reports about the continuous RLP are good, of course, but only for journalists and raising morale.

There was no continuous radar field even during the Soviet Union, and after the 90s, when they cut a bunch of r / l units with IA guidance points and until now in most of the country the r / l field is focal in nature, the north of Siberia is generally open, and earlier units stood already beyond the Arctic Circle, in memory of Father Vise, Fr. The guard, Father Kotelny, Alykel and even to hell.

That's interesting. Range 600 km. Was this technique (or at least a worse class) on duty when the Malaysian Boeing was shot down? It would be possible to immediately remove all the questions and nullify the provocative assaults. It's like surveillance cameras. You can listen to the "truthful" testimony, or you can just look at the picture from the camera, and everything becomes clear.

Maybe all the same we are talking about the "Sky-M" radar? And radio-technical connections ended in 2009, only military units and subdivisions remained. The detection range depends on the altitude of the target, the laws of physics. A range of 600 km is for heights over 20 km.

If you want to develop a discussion, it also depends on the pulse repetition rate, at 35D6, it is it that limits the range.
