“Advanced satellite stations of the second generation“ Downpour ”entered service with the brigade of the management of the general military association ZVO. High-mobility latest complexes provide communication with any digital, analog, radio-relay stations, unified command and staff machines and have a clearer and more reliable signal that exceeds the signals of the first-generation stations by 10 times ",
told Muginov.

According to him, Liven stations allow “to quickly deploy digital networks of broadband wireless access in the field” and “are able to function in a difficult jamming environment, providing reliable, high-quality communications to command unions with subordinate units.”

“The station is located on the basis of a high-performance car“ Ural-4320 ”. It is equipped with the GLONASS satellite navigation system and is capable of automatically pointing the antenna system to the satellite at specified coordinates, ”Muginov said.

“At present, the personnel of the communication units of the Western Military District are studying the technical characteristics of the new station during field training, working out standards for the deployment, operation and relocation of new communication complexes,” he added.

Communication in modern conditions is 50% of the business. The main thing is that this was not a single product, but a planned re-equipment of the aircraft.

This pleases the means of communication, electronic warfare, all this allows you to effectively manage troops. In Chechnya, militants lagged far behind the means of communication, in Georgia they used mobile phones. The Crimean operation is already a different level. Actions in Syria also demonstrate an increased level of command and control using modern means of communication.

Not far gone after 30 years

Deployment time with joining the service channel, min 40

The station is located on two transport units: a URAL-4320 car (U023 hardware) and a trailer (U022 hardware). The body of the U023 hardware is divided into two compartments. In the front compartment is the antenna device U100B-U (in transport position), the MAD-127 / 220 dehydrator and power supply elements, and in the rear is the AD-30У-Т / 400-1В electrical unit.

To operate the antenna device on the machine rises from the compartment and is mounted on the roof of the equipment room. Station equipment is placed in a trailer. At work the hardware ones are interconnected by cables from the station set; a flexible elliptical waveguide serves to transmit a high-power microwave signal to the antenna.

I dare to correct you, since I served on such a device for more than one year. In the back there is a station control with reception and transmission equipment, and in the front there are blocks for channel secrecy and delivery to the switch!
GLONASS with auto-tuning - good! Previously, it was necessary to manually constantly adjust the "dish" by satellite.
By the way, the plate has a very good windage! In training, sometimes she was blown off the kung along with the fighters at the slightest breeze, if they did not have time to fix it on the rack!

An excellent station with very wide possibilities. Instead of "Crystal". But the crew needs to be well prepared. The deployment and deployment is faster than the endpoints (who are provided with a communication channel) will be ready. The fact is pleasing. Without communication there is no control, without control there is no victory!

quickly deploy digital broadband wireless access networks in the field
Communication in the army is needed. Reliable communication that the enemy is unable to intercept or interrupt. During my service it was provided by relay stations. To intercept such a connection, it was necessary to be on the line between the two sources. I would like to understand to what extent "broadband Internet" corresponds to such tasks. Will it turn out that breaking such "WI-Fi" will be a task for an average hacker?

I don't think this "WI-Fi" will be seen on personal computers or smartphones. You can't catch frequencies on a PC that are used by the military. This means that hackers need to purchase military equipment and only then pair it with a PC. And of course you need to know the data transfer protocols, encryption system, passwords. If ordinary hackers have and know all this, then this is called spying for the enemy. These hackers are easily caught. Even home computers have a tracking system for attempts to register in the system. Does the military really lack this? One thing I can advise is - don't do it. You will be stuck with betrayal of the Motherland and the hackers will be in prison. In addition, the FSB will not stand on ceremony with hackers and will greatly spoil their health with the help of psychotropic substances in order to ferret out all secret plans, but will start with beatings.

The first "Livni" to replace "Crystals" began to enter the troops in the early 90s. But, among other things, a series of new communication satellites had to go for them, which for some reason had not been launched since the end of 91 - Yeltsin and Gaidar did not give a damn - they fought for something else, turning off the toilets in the White House and persuading the tankers ( by the way, no one knows the names of "heroes"?) shoot at him from tanks.
So, the old "Crystals" continued to serve, and the expensive new "Livni" were idle in the boxes, or they rode 500 km of marches to train electric drivers.
Therefore, the attitude to this "news" is that the "new" (although, judging by Glonass - a new generation - then it was not), the stations entered the troops a little like this, nostalgic, after all, more than 20 years have passed - and now, they work (I hope ).
But the Urals - it pleases with its healthy conservatism, a true military machine, and you can live in it for months, unlike the enemy Hammer shown right there.
