Worldwide American Secret Wars
Recently, it was reported that in the structure of the Pentagon there is a kind of secret special forces that is leading a global secret war around the world. The scope of this war was not known until now.
After the brutal murder of Osama bin Laden by the American "fur seals", this secret unit, which is part of the armed forces, suddenly became the center of attention. Finding him seemed at least strange. Despite the fact that the special forces were active in the territories of such states as Iraq and Afghanistan, it became obvious that they could not do without them in the zones of armed conflict of Somalia and Yemen. Thus, the scope of these hostilities is truly impressive.
As recently as last year in the US media, information appeared that the total number of states in which US special forces operated increased from 60 (during the reign of George W. Bush) to 75. And according to a representative of one of these units, Colonel Tim Nay, the number of such countries will very soon reach 120. He also stated that the activities of the secret Pentagon secret services covered 60 percent of the total number of countries in the world, thus testifying to the continuous development of the secret power elite of the United States, leading secret wars even in the most remote corners of the world.
The special forces command of America was created in 1987 year. It was the result of unsuccessful operations to free American hostages in Iran in 1980. Then, eight US servicemen died. Special forces units have lost confidence and were forced to sit on scant funding. After creating SOCOM, they received a single home, protection and a stable budget.
Under the control of the Command are army "Green Berets", Rangers, specialized helicopter teams, boat groups, seals, groups of special operations of the marines, air commandos, rescue teams and employees of civilian organizations. They all perform a variety of secret missions.
In the structure of SOCOM stands the Command of joint special operations. This is a secret team, whose main task is to find and eliminate persons involved in terrorism. This special group is under the control of the president and maintains a huge firing list, in which from time to time American residents are included. The JSOC forces are conducting an illegal campaign of hijackings and killings, which they call the “anti-terrorism industrial scale homicide machine”.
The implementation of this campaign is entrusted to the special divisions of the fur seals and the Delta, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, and is a structural part of the network of secret wars conducted in the territories of Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. Moreover, the JSOC has at its disposal a network of secret prisons, of which there are about twenty in Afghanistan alone.
The strength of the Special Operations Command increased after the events of 11 September 2001, from 37 thousands to 60 thousands of employees. One third of these are SOCOM personnel. And although the rest of the staff has other military specialties, it periodically takes an active part in the activities of this structure.
Funding for the Command has also increased and is currently worth 6,3 billion dollars. Although if we take into account the costs of financing the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, it becomes clear that this amount is at least equal to 9,8 billion. The number of employees has also grown. In the future, further development and expansion of operations is planned.
Dennis Heilik, the former commander of the special operations of the naval forces (which, incidentally, was included in SOCOM in 2006), said a possible increase in the number of units at least twice, since the long-term plans of the American leadership already require an increase in the total number of fighters per thousand people .
And during the Senate meeting on the approval of William Mac Raven (vice-admiral of the naval forces) for the post of head of SOCOM, he confirmed the information on the growth of personnel by about 5 percent annually. Also supplemented and additional resources, including unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to Mac Ravenna, the role of special forces is increasing every day. And Iraq, for example, will only benefit if there are American units remaining on its territory after 2011. He also stated that the Command is very closely monitoring Somalia and Yemen.
In the same year, as part of the annual symposium on special operations and conflicts, Admiral Eric Olson said that earlier, before 11 in September, the attention of the Command was riveted to the northern industrialized countries. Now, however, he was attracted by the southern countries, since real threats emanate from there.
Olson launched "Project Lawrence", which involves in-depth study of languages, as well as stories and the customs of the states in whose territories the US units operate. The program received its name in honor of Lawrence of Arabia, who joined the Arab forces to conduct a joint guerrilla war in the territory of the Middle East during the First World War. It is planned that the project will receive its development in the 51 state of the world, starting with Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan and Mali.
According to him, about 85 percent of the personnel of special units is located in 20 Middle Eastern states: Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq and Iran, Bahrain, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Syria, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan , The United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Uzbekistan. The remaining 15 percentages are distributed in all corners of the world and are part of large contingents.
SOCOM keeps a secret where exactly the units under its control operate, since this contradicts the interests of the United States, but it is known for certain that these special forces (in particular, fur seals and Delta) perform a large number of illegal abduction and liquidation operations in such states, like Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen, while Green Berets and Rangers provide completely legal training to combat Al Qaeda and other extremist groups.
In the Philippines, the US government spends 50 million dollars annually on the maintenance of a contingent of 600 fighters who, together with local troops, carry out anti-terrorist operations against Abu Sayyaf and Djemaa Islamiya rebel groups.
In addition, joint training exercises of American special forces in Brazil, Belize, Germany, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Norway, Poland and Panama are held regularly. And since 2011, similar missions have been carried out on the territory of such states as Jordan, the Dominican Republic, Romania, South Korea, Senegal and Thailand.
In addition to increasing the number of personnel and budget financing, the influence of special forces is growing. In 2002, SOCOM was able to form operational joint forces such as the Operational Combination of Special Operations Forces, although earlier the creation of such structures was the prerogative of larger-scale commands (for example, the Central Command of the American armed forces). An operational joint procurement connection was also organized, which included equipment designers and procurement specialists.
Due to this growth, the influence of SOCOM is quite capable of both acquiring the latest technologies and developing its own technologies like stealth or camouflage technologies. It is known that since 2001, the volume of contracts concluded by the Command with enterprises for the production of special equipment and weapons has increased by 6.
SOCOM, thanks to close ties with other government organizations, foreign military forces and intelligence services, being the Pentagon’s main counterterrorism adviser, armed with a huge number of invisible helicopters, high-tech boats, unmanned aerial vehicles, and specialized vehicles, is a new phenomenon in military field. It is an elite secret army within the national armed forces.
In the 120 states of the world, special forces lead secret wars in the structure of the shadow conflict, making loud assassinations, night raids, seizures, and deliberate murders. Being invisible in their time and serving only for cover, today they have become special because of their power, influence and possibilities.
However, according to the same Olsen, Americans still have to learn how to cope with the consciousness of owning special forces of such large numbers, secrecy and activity. And the special units themselves are not averse to returning to the shadows and continuing to do what they were created for.
