Staffan de Mistura: During the years of conflict in Syria, 400 killed thousands of people
16
UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, cited the horrendous statistics of victims of the bloody confrontation that continues in the Syrian Arab Republic. According to Staffan de Mistura, a total of about 2011 thousands have died in Syria since the spring of the year 400! About 5 of millions of Syrian citizens became refugees, most of whom moved to Lebanon, Jordan and the EU countries.
Information Agency TASS cites a statement by de Mistura, in which he declares the need to stop the bloodshed in Syria:
We must put an end to this tragedy. Yes, you never have to refuse, when we have the opportunity to stop the war, such a terrible, as we see in Syria: 5 years, 400 thousand dead, 4 million refugees. Hope must be kept, otherwise we will give it to the Syrians.
In addition, de Mistura gave a comment on the suspended talks on the settlement of the conflict in Syria, which were conducted in Geneva. Recall that part of the delegation of the so-called Syrian opposition suddenly announced that it “suspends its participation” in the negotiation process. At the same time, the American side called on the Russian Federation to put pressure on Damascus so that Syrian government troops would stop the offensive in the Aleppo area. It is strange that Washington still doesn’t take any steps to pacify those groups that apparently look in the mouth by the US itself and other members of the so-called American coalition, but every time it says that there is a “plan B”.
